Vic's gofundme has been unlisted from search engines. You can still find it with more narrow search terms, but only for country-specific urls like uk.gofundme, es.gofundme, fr.gofundme and so on. I checked DuckDuckGo, Google, and Bing.

Just listened to the super chat on Rekietas show about fuckery going on about finding Vics go fund me on search engines.

So I decided to google search. Fuckery confirmed.

The first three options for "vic kicks back". Twitter. And then mirror domains for gofundme in France and Italy. The US localization is gone.

Bing.

UK localization...and bounding into comics. Third option on Bing, is no joke, the Risembool rangers fan page.

Duck Duck Go.

The UK localization is the FOURTH option. The others have no real ties at all.

The American localization is gone in all searches. And this is new. Because I have used google to try and find the gofundme to keep track on it for awhile. And I have always found the US localized version of gofundme for the campaign. Its been shadowbanned. Holy shit.

^edit* There is also a possibility that GoFundMe itself has done something to try and prevent the pages appearance in search results. An outcome that is also bad, but not quite as tinfoil as all the search engines removing it.

Google's SJW Cucks strike again!

Hm? Is it? Are we seeing some pretty shady stuff happening in the background?
EDIT: OH SHIT!

I've always heard people complain about big tech shadow bans and memory holes. I have never actually witnessed it in real time. I want to write something pithy right now, but all I feel at the moment is a slack jawed feeling of horror.

This is getting crazy, who the hell at google is tossing their hat into the ring over this?
They shadowban via algorithm. All they needed do is something as simple as program it to shadow any site/person etc via keyword percentage. Since their current target is "alt right" it isn't hard for the algorithm to include sites/pages/people that use words they already included when targeting actual alt right sites. Nick, Vic, Ty and anyone ISWV has been accused of being alt right by KV for months. So the algorithm does the job it was programmed to.

He who controls the language...

"Look, guys, it's just the algorithm! We didn't program a bot to ban conservatives! We just turned on a machine learning AI and rewarded it every time it did!"

I hope the Anti-Trust government officials reem you.

And once again, leftists resort to underhanded tactics. And the only reason this continues is because 1. It’s seen as “for the right causes” and 2. The right wing isn’t willing to go to such maneuvers.

There is an even worse subtext to this. The algorithims ignored GoFundMe's mirror sites in Europe. It was targeted specifically at the primary .com domain, located in America. Whatever program ALL of the search engines are using, google, bing, even fucking duck duck go, filtered out the US localizations for GoFundMe, but failed to account for the fact that GoFundMe maintains mirror domains in European countries tied to its primary server. But there was overlapping filtering. Google filtered the UK but picked up France and Italy, while Duck Duck Go and Bing filtered everything BUT the UK. So they are not all using the same algorithm, but they are using very similar algorithms.

The one unifying feature? The localization in the United States was nuked across all search platforms. My horror is turning very quickly into rage.

*Edit* I wanted to believe it was just a case of downlisting. Removing prominence to the gofundme in searches.

The URL is still live

But its gone. Page 2 of google. Nothing. Page 3. Nothing. Page 4. Nothing.

Its not just lowered in priority. It is removed entirely.

*edit* Analysis by smart kiwis is showing the issue is in fact on GoFundMe's end, not the search engines. Still bad, but not full on tinfoil.

This hole just goes deeper and deeper doesn't it?

The Weeb Wars just might get Google involved too.

I never knew my life would see me witness an actual cyberpunk story in real time.

Google has their own problems to worry about:

I heard from a little birdy that Hope Jacob Chapman of Anime News Network has friends at Google to pull strings around.

If anyone needs a lead, this would be it.

Does Nick have any grounds to go after Google since he made the GFM? Also, it’s google. You know those guys have deep pockets so a lawsuit may require cost analysis.
