Tbf for a rock type that's fast enough on it's own, it might have been overkill to give it the ability to boost it's own speed like that.
Doesn't stop Excadrill from doing the exact same thing, who's speed is only 24 points lower. That and it can also have Sand Force, though it's not nearly as good an ability.

Only thing I can think of is Lycanroc is the only Rock type with Sand Rush, meaning it would get the boost in speed + the 50% Sp. Def raise in a single turn. But that's still not even remotely enough for it to be broken, especially with the rest of the issues it already has. Frail as hell, really weak coverage, 4 slot syndrome, it's just not good overall.

It not getting Sandstorm doesn't really matter. Something with glass-cannon type stats like Midday Lycanroc should NOT be wasting a turn setting up weather for themselves. It should instead rely on either a bulkier team mate with the move or, more practically, an auto-sandstorm setter.

True, even almost had that tidbit in my post. But the main point is how a good chunk of Alola mons are so screwed out of decent movepools that several are even missing simple conventions that every other example of their kin follows, regardless of competitive viability of either the mon or moves in question.

Apologies for double posting but I just have to point this out.

This is, as the watermark suggests, a pre-alpha screenshot from some new Ice Age game in the works coming out this fall.

And here's the infamous N64 tree.

Just, how.

The Ice Age game itself btw:

So a new spinoff game for smartphones has been announced and it actually looks better than Sw/Sh graphics wise.

It also has Kris in it, which I was happy to see. That girl never gets enough love!

Well in addition to the usual Pokemon-centric media moguls defending Sword and Shield, it appears a major VGC competitor has thrown his hat into the ring after some funkiness on Twitter and Twitch. And here's one of his reactions.

Tl;dr - Wolfe Glick, One of VGC's major competitors and winner of this year's Pokemon North American International Championships VGC division, got pissy about the Pokemon's VGC-related Twitter posts and official Twitch stream getting bogged with #BringBackNationalDex posts and proceeded to compare the movement to people pissing in pools like a hypocritical child.
Joe is this pathetic that he's actively shilling on fucking 4chan

EDIT - here's the archived thread, https://archive.nyafuu.org/vp/thread/39145465/
I know Joe's going to defend Game Freak due to Pokemon being his main bread and butter but doing this is just suicidal. Doesn't he know that /vp/ already hates his guts?

EDIT: Holy fuck, now he's using Pokemon Masters to justify Game Freak's laziness and even his girlfriend is telling him to quit it. This day just keeps getting better and better... :story:

I mean, I kind of agree with him. All this #BringBackNationalDex shit has gotten super autistic, and I just can't stand it anymore.

I agree with you on it being super autistic but what else is there to do when the companies involved keep giving those who want their voices to be heard the runaround and one of said companies telling folks to take it to various social media platforms?

Fucking hell Game Freak, now a mobile game has more graphical polish, fanservice, and even still has megas and something resembling Z-moves compared to SWSH. You're being shown up by a mobile game, what has happened to this pitiful husk of a franchise?

They were even involved with the development of this game too. It shows that they are capable of putting out a game that looks promising when they put there best foot forward. Although, SW/SH isn't out yet, so I'll just wait and see.

Fuck yeah, IS THAT BARRY? Based Nibba Barry, the best worst neighbour. Also Brock looks the best when he wears that shirt.

It probably is tiring to see all the complaining but on the other hand, what are people to do? Not complain and submit to feeding on lazy shit?
Complaining loudly is the only way they'll get something changed. It's not far fetched to say people are at least a little entitled to have a $60 game be of good quality with features that are standard in the industry and gimmicks they like, especially from a studio with a franchise that has made billions by now.

While I do agree, they do realize that it's a stupid way to go about it right?

I hate to point out something that probably one of the worst people who's got their own thread here said, but Twitter allows you to mute hashtags, for all we know, the person who manages the Pokemon PR for twitter muted it a long time ago.

The same can be said for other sites.

That's the problem with slackivism, it's easy to do, but it's easy to ignore too especially on social media.

Exactly. They can screech "#BringBackTheNationalDex" as loudly as they want, but at the end of the day it's the money that talks not you.

It is a stupid way to do it, but for most people, it's all they can do in the first place besides boycotting the game. Game Freak is Japan, so if you want to see these people actually go out and protest, it's impossible because no one's flying out there to form a picket line for a random game company over one video game, no matter how popular it is. Petition's are equally dumb and pretty useless since they could say "we'll take this in consideration" then burn it.
PR has been the make or break for brands for decades now, always has been. Bad PR is PR yes, but bad PR also means a potential for lost sales and loss of customer base. The slactivism in this case can be very damaging since Pokemon relies a lot on PR, as does every other video game. It's only saving grace PR wise is the fact it's a household name so the hashtag is just a splash in the bucket comparatively.
Come November, we'll see if that bad PR and boycotts will really have an effect. For now, it just looks like ceaseless whining.
