Unless I missed something, Tulsi did a fair job of carefully skirting around the requirements (which, if anyone is interested in this generally pretty dry and boring topic, can be found in DoD Directive 1344.10, Political Activities by Members of the Armed Forces). It's worth noting that there are some exemptions for political candidates who are currently serving as far as the actual rules, and in general the rules are less strict for those who are not on active duty.

That said, I think Tulsi is too radioactive to ever be picked up even as a VP, due to a combination of the following:

- Past association between her, her family and a crazy excommunicated splinter group of a crazy cult. (Google "Tulsi Gabbard Hare Krishna" if you want to go down this particular rabbit hole.)
- Initial entry into politics as a hardline anti-gay marriage crusader, despite current effort to walk those positions back.
- Impression that she is sympathetic to and/or an apologist for various global liberal boogeymen including Putin and Assad.
- Lingering resentment of the US military on the far left.

Just my opinion.

It's a comparatively recent development that's been going on a while, and hit full bolt when the DNC decided they didn't need Democrats to vote for them anymore.

Substance abuse is the most likely cause. You'd be drinking too if you were them.

In all fairness, if I were one of them, I'm pretty sure I'd be drinking to wash down a shitload of opiates and take one last big nap. Not sure I could get up and face myself knowing that my relevance to society depended entirely on me trying to be more 'woke' than some deranged old liberal bitch next to me that people call Feauxcahontas the Pretendian Princess.
 
I liked how the moderation was VERY careful to not let John Delaney speak whenever the topic was immigration. Wouldn't want anyone breaking the circle jerk and pointing out that decriminalizing illegal immigration isn't going to stop mass immigration which I can't believe one of the retards actually said.

I'm not saying he did well (he was doomed to fail from the start since he's a moderate democrat) but it was funny how blatant that was.

Doctors and police are completely different. Doctors need thousands of hours of schooling and training to become a doctor, which requires hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain. You can be a cop with a GED. You need specialized knowledge and up to date scientific information be excel at being a doctor. You need common sense to excel at being a cop. Doctors save lives by having a victim in a controlled area where they can focus on the life threatening injury. Cops save lives by going into a life threatening situations having to make split second decisions that may end another person's life. If a cop kills somebody, especially if that somebody is black, it's because incompetence or hate. If a doctor kills somebody, they are at least given the benefit of the doubt, and at worse just blamed for negligence.

No, I don't want state funded doctors the same way we have state funded police.

All this debate did was convince me Dems in general want the US to be a Mexican colony and also that Tulsi Gabbard is a milfy angel descended from on high.

I wouldn't go so far as saying it was 'guaranteed', he could have sunk the petro-dollar if he was incompetent, anyone incompetent enough permanently sinking it on a long enough timeline is more guaranteed than what turned out to be the extent of the economic recovery from '08-'16.
