One of the few good things to come out of this scandal is that it's forcing people to recognize the contributions of everyone else who busted their asses working on his projects

Forcing people who didn't already know, let's say. People who've known what John's really like have been recognizing their contributions for years.

But if everyone else gets on board so much the better.

Newgrounds animations made by teenagers are better than this.

Why am I not shocked all the girls who worked on this look like that?

I actually thought that joke would've been good. Like he looks in and goes. "It's just pea soup, what kind of kid doesn't want pea soup? Ah well, more for me!" and he just casually eats it and enjoys it. In a more competent production that would've been perfect.
It would've also been funny if he pulled out a foot like he joked about in the rough draft (which was removed in the final product btw) and casually cannibalized it, maybe even musing nostalgically about how it takes him back to his POW days.

There is one good thing about this awful Cans Without Dignity release, and that is that nobody in the future has any claim that John is a maligned genius whose failures in life had anything to do with anything other than the fact he was a talentless hack from the beginning.
I'm really glad he's demolished his own credibility since he convinced a gajillion people to buy into nonsensical opinions as a concrete fact just through the power of his clout alone. I know it's irrelevant today but there's never been a more ignorant and annoyingly opinionated cult of spergs than those of the John K variety, even without barring the naked degeneracy of other fandoms. I think the worst thing about John's blog are the vague appeals he makes as to why something is good or bad, if he were anybody else he wouldn't be the least bit persuasive for the lack of detail he goes into regarding anything. He doesn't even talk about substantial standards except for where he casually dismisses anything innovative or impressive like photo-realistic water. His blog is dedicated to just shooting down other art styles and people took him at his word that certain art styles were intrinsically bad, not even the realistic art styles of He-Man or "Thundercrap" were good enough for him. He is such a smug piece of shit with the most hittable face ever, and that's all before going into his paraphilia.

There are a lot of things I despise about modern animation fandom but the fact that the John K. fanboys are all mostly gone is a big, big plus.

Since the John K. fandom has largely died out in the past few years, I guess that's why everyone just accepted he was a pedo so quickly. If he had had the kind of fandom he had in 1997 or even 2007, there would still be a ton of people denying he was a pedophile, alongside pushing old, discredited factoids from Wild Cartoon Kingdom about how Bob Camp was a talentless hack who conspired with the dykes at Nickelodeon to turn R&S into an unfunny cartoon or some shit.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually read John K's blog back in 2016 . . . . unironically (I was 14). I came across it when trying to find out how to draw in the Hanna-Barbera style; while I didn't get my wish, I regretfully stayed on that blog. I honestly thought he was being funny and exaggerating, but I still ate it up. I even attempted to tweet to him and all I can say is thank God I'm a guy. Thinking back to it, most of his stuff was bullshit rambling and pointers that range from useful to downright stupid. I remember him repeatedly writing that there's no use for realistic animation. Why waste time and money copying real life when you could easily do it in live action? Well 1, that's wrong and 2, that's not even the real reason. The real reason is because he can't fucking draw and he's salty about it.

Not to mention there's a genuine artistic challenge & merit to depicting people to the most anatomically accurate degree possible.

Yeah, I'm really surprised he went down so quickly too. Usually when metoo shit happens, no matter how credible, there will always be dindus because we're so used to fake rape claims. Cosby still has dindus to this day. But nobody came to John K's side when rape claims were made.

Even his own peers think it's true. Some of his biggest sycophants haven't defended him since the news broke. If that doesn't say something...

But occasionally nowadays I find someone who repeats one of those old talking points unironically and I wonder if they've heard the news...

John K’s defenders reside on 4chan and are an exceptional minority, everyone else seems to actively despise them.

Actually, I'm pretty the entirety of 4chan hates John. I don't recall any ass-kissers on that site.

While there might've been a few stragglers, 4chan does unite from time to time.

I just remembered. There was this one post John made that was about practicing with references (I know, right?). So he draws a girl from a magazine cover and all the while, he's talking about how Asians have different features like further apart eyes. Not to mention she didn't look that old, around 18, if I can remember. Thinking about it now, the whole thing creeps me out and I'd try and get the picture, but I don't think I'd be able to find it.

Wow. How fucking cheap. This shit looks like a late 90s CGI mixed media flash cartoon. You could find better quality writing and animation from any newgrounds cartoon that's actually from the late 90s.
Literally none of the "jokes" are funny, it's literally just gross-out, pg-13 swearing, and more gross out combined with WACKY FACEZZ XDDDD.
No talent involved whatsoever.
The animation is so poorly timed and weightless, it seriously makes The Last Days of Coney Island look like Sakuga gold. It's so stiff and unnatural when the characters move! The lip sync is grotesquely off.
You know your status as a "god of animation" is undeserved when outsourced korean animators in the 90s, working for pennies on the hour can kick your ass seven ways from sunday.
This is in no way a "$136,723" project. John must have used, like, $300 of the budget for the GARBAGE CGI and used the rest to buy opioids and jailbait porn.
Mighty no 9 was better than this.

I hope this finishes off John's reputation once and for all because it is an absolute and utter piece of shit and a disgrace. John is a loser.

Sweet jesus, I think it's like the Nostalgia Critic; people have started to realize that no, that's not supposed to be stylistic suck, it's just plain shitty.

Thank god for whoever else worked on ren and stimpy, because you can just imagine how fugly and unwatchable everything would've been if he'd been the only one around.

I'd say that John K. is like a lump of raw uranium. On its own, it just sits there as it slowly kills anyone near. The only way to get something useful out of it, whether it be electric power, or a nuclear bomb, is to process it and keep it under tight watch. By getting fired from Ren and Stimpy, John Chernobyl'd is own career and now, he spends his days fizzling out in the ruins of his own legacy.

Come on. John was a fan of Roger Ramjet (which has even less animation) and Rocket Robin Hood. Not to mention early Hanna-Barbera.

But remember that Ren and Stimpy was the last time he worked with a crew comprised mostly of his own peers who did their time in the big TV animation studios just like he did instead of young, novice animators who were working at their first job. That is to say, people who thought they were trying to make funny cartoons instead of what was essentially a cult.
And that's the issue I got with John, sure, he can knock Filmation, 70s/80s Hanna-Barbera and DiC all he wants (they do deserve it), but his own taste in cartoons astounds me to no end. All Rocket Robin Hood is good for is historical value for Canadian television. And the Flintstones and Huckleberry Hound aren't much different than H-B's later output, they just have slightly better writing than those shows.

Keep in mind that's before his bitching about shows like Animaniacs because of his anti-Speilberg bias (He hates E.T. just because of the man himself). And how that he's more than willing to lambast the Simpsons for its writing (something it was well-known for in its heyday), yet accept not one, but two animation jobs for the series during its "zombie" years and somehow manage to make the Korean-farmed animation look ten times better.

Like I said, if it weren't for Bob Camp, Chris Reccardi, Bill Wray, Lynne Naylor and the rest, the show would have not have been as good as it was. If John had made it with the same unpaid novice teenage animators he used for the rest of his stuff, it would have tanked badly.

Something that always bothered me about John both in his blog entries and his interviews is his way of talking about pretty much anything, ranging from an idea to remembering something, he always goes into unnecessary detail about everything while explaining almost nothing besides remarking how "really huge" or "wimpy" or "smelly" whoever he's talking about was or just throwing racist/physical details along the way. I know it's a very minor thing but I felt like I should point that out.
It gives me the impression that he envisions real life as if it was one of his cartoons, which wouldn't be surprising really.
