My personal theory is that the VA sources fall into two categories:

1) People who aren't sperging out on Twitter.

2) People Sabat and Rial (and possibly Marchi?) screwed out of roles.

In one of Nick's streams, Ty suggested that the majority of Funimation VAs are "bitter, jealous individuals." That leads me to believe that there's plenty of VAs who might not personally care for Vic, but are eager for Rial and Sabat to hang for whatever slights they've committed.

We can debunk this if we can get the following.

1. A past history of Vic's residence at that time. If he truly had a roomate, their name would also be on that residence.

2. Michelle needs to identify her "friend". If it is true that she had a friend at the same academy, she would show up in the yearbook.

If they did attack Willingham I feel like it would stir up a shitstorm of epic proportions. The critter community is a rabid whirlwind of mostly tumblrettes and other ultra-tolerant californian types who just crowdfunfed almost $11M for the Critical Role animation. It would be unlikely they'd believe any accusations without any credible proof. At least I hope so.

If nothing else it'd be amusing to watch kickvic scum getting savaged by those who they thought to be on their side. :story:

I don't know about Caitlin, but her mom publicly sided with Jessie Pridemore.

On 2): identifying a friend, with how little we know, is absolutely trivial, with the risk being that she identifies someone who's aware of this controversy and seeks to extricate themselves from it by rebuffing said identification. It would also be understandable if Michelle wouldn't want to drag a friend (former or otherwise) into this lynch mob when she should have reported it to, if no one else, law enforcement.

Amongst other things, I'm not buying the "fundamental Christianity" angle she's trying to illustrate-- worst case scenario, everyone would have hung if the father found out that Vic tried to put the moves on his daughter, and worst case worst case scenario, it would have been only because they weren't already married and they were together alone. I mean, standardly, unless her father was distant or abusive-- but she gives no such indication. IIRC, that thread also comes up again later in the account, which taints it because rather than provide transparency for a supposed sexual predator, it becomes clear that the allegation is given to serve an anti-Evulgilical agenda.

well there is one Bulma who was pushed out from her role at funi by rial and another Bulma who lost her DB super role because funi wanted to have the only english dub.
Tiffany Vollmer pretty much left her VA work after she was pushed out at funi and Wendee lee musst be pissed that somebody with much less talent and credits to her name got her role.

Maybe once this is all said and done, Vic can start his own production company and Make Anime Great Again with all the cool, talented people that are too afraid of the toxic mean-girl's club to speak up. Then, when they are rolling in dough after DBZ Superbroly IV and Funimation and Roosterteeth are out of business and Schemel, Sabat, and the rest of them are working at Wendy's. Maybe then Vic will finally be at peace with what happened.

Literally a technique employed by forensic psychologists when interviewing suspects and potential suspects. When someone is lying, they've likely thought through what their answers will be multiple times. In thinking through it, they'll find inconsistencies or parts that sound less-than-convincing, and they'll end up adding in details to attempt to paint their story in your mind, because they themselves, while thinking their answer up, are painting the story in their own mind and detailing what that story is. It's why these things often sound like poorly-written fiction, because it effectively is, just with a different purpose.
