I think the road thing may just be that the games never need a road because what are you going to do, walk down it?
Cars probably are made from stronger metals than real ones, like the possibility of melting down Bronzongs to make the superior-est of alloys. Also a lot of Pokemon may behave like real animals in the sense of cars still being new to the world so a natural instinct would be it's an unknown thing, and with small pokemon also holding great power they have a reason to fear pokemon they don't know.
Maybe doors to bathrooms and other unseen stuff are on hidden walls, or are through hidden entrances in visible walls?

Also why would anyone live in a place where wild pokemon attack? It'd be like living on an island full of savage wildlife. Why can't it work like the Safari Zone when one is sans pokemon?
Just fight them yourself to get exp bro.

Anyway, more questions

What is a pokemon ability? The names and effects of them vary so much, like there are some that are obviously biological in nature such as thick fat or rough scales but what about behaviour related abilities and the seemingly magic ones. How are they tracked on each pokemon and not assumed to be a move of some kind?
Speaking of moves, what about pokemon learning moves not of their type? Like a normal type using fire moves or the fact every pokemon has the potential to learn toxic bar Magikarp.
Why is water weak to electric but not steel? Water's conductivity is the reason why it's weak right?
What makes a pokemon normal type? If you lived by the ocean wouldn't all water pokemon seem normal to you?
Why are mega stones temporary effects? If the power is inside the pokemon surely they would stay powerful after it's unlocked.
What has led to the wide spread of geodudes? Is their lack of natural predator the reason why they exist in every region?
Did Kyogre make the oceans first or did Groudon make the terrain first? What was there before either of them?
If Psyduck explodes when it gets too stressed, why can't it learn selfdestruct?
If humans are in some way supposed to be related to pokemon, what type are they?
Theoretically could colonisation on different planets be made easier through the use of pokemon?
If MewTwo is supposed to be the strongest of all pokemon (bar deity level mons like Dialga, Giratina, Arceus etc) how did we manage to make him like that? We still are studying pokemon to this day so would we be able to make something stronger?
No but seriously how do I get a Gothitelle gf I am not joking you guys?
If the Klinklang line only appeared after industrialisation what did they evolve from? Same for Voltorb and Foongus.
How come pokemon only lay one egg at a time? Surely bug mons would benefit from laying thousands of eggs?
Is the pokemon planet extremely similar to ours environment wise or would new biomes exist due to the effects of mons?
How come there aren't regional variants for Baltoy and Claydol? Surely there woud be some for each region. Even if it was a laziness thing how come claydol aren't in every region?
In the card game they introduced delta species for a bit, would gamefreak ever consider putting them in games?
How do tms work? How does a pokemon learn from a disc. Also why are HMs unforgettable when stuff like CUT and ROCK SMASH are much simpler moves than Hyper Beam or Close Combat?
What is the apex predator of each region? Surely there would be one.
Why are all pokemon affected the same by poisons and cures for status ailments? Shouldn't it vary based on body chemistry?
Shouldn't an Arbok still be poisoned when inhaling Koffing gas? They are two different poisons no?

How in the fuck does this thing eats if it's carrying it's sword like this 24/7?

Maybe it puts it in a stone all Sword in the Stone style while it eats so no one can steal it, or maybe its one of those immortal or spirit-like pokemon. Either that or Gamefreak may possibly be really bad at world building.

Those are a lot of questions, but as I think on some answers, a sudden realization begins to dawn on me... I think I'm starting to suspect that maybe, JUST maybe... Gamefreak... is possibly... really bad at world building.

As for your gothitelle question, go to Hot Topic or some japanese goth lolita store with a large boombox. Wear nothing but black clothes and sissy black makeup. Play "CRAWLING IN MY SKIN" or some shitty generic Japanese pop Idol song at max volume. Proceed to cut your wrists and bleed. Wait 2 hours and Gothitelle will show up.

Kinda funny how GameFreak actually formed because a bunch of guys running a fanzine said “Games today are garbage, lets make quality games!”

"Lazy Worldbuilding" is the correct answer but that's not what we're in this thread for.
Also I tried but all I got was a fine for carrying a plastic spoon that I was trying to cut myself with.

Speaking of Game Freak, what sort of political, social, or economic impact have they themselves had in the Pokémon world? Because buildings of theirs seem to pop up in every region as some sort of running gag but it's never expanded upon any further outside of that. Are they like the Pokémon world's equivalent to Trump in how they have all sorts of facilities with their name on it splattered all over the globe? Maybe this is all build-up to the last generation of games they'll ever make where they show up as the evil team and Masuda or someone else acts as their leader.

It’s just a fourth wall gag. If Game Freak existed in the Pokémon universe, everyone would be playing Click Medic on the PS1 or that one elephant game on the 3DS.

Victini seems pretty damn goofy to me. Its dex entries say that it can't lose no matter what which is bull, type encounters don't matter which is also bull, it emits infinite luck energy, "its victory incarnate", its called the Victory pokemon, it has wings on its freaking butt, and that's not even getting into its shitty design of victory "V"s slapped over its body. I get that maybe it represents Gen V, but this seems over the top. And why is it even #000? What's the point of some special snowflake numbering like that anyway?

GF sucks at character design.

Fine. I think I at least have partially legit answers for a few of these questions.

What makes a pokemon normal type? If you lived by the ocean wouldn't all water pokemon seem normal to you?

I think normal is just to denote that they have no elemental or supernatural attributes and are susceptible to all things without any resistances, much like humans.

If humans are in some way supposed to be related to pokemon, what type are they?

Normal maybe? But I think humans have developed in a way that they're more like irl humans than the pokemon of their world, so they're no longer pokemon (if the legends are true that they once were pokemon that is, rather than just being a separate species that developed alongside them).

Did Kyogre make the oceans first or did Groudon make the terrain first? What was there before either of them?

I think that the earth's formation was a team effort between Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza. I think before them, there was no planet, just three angry forces of nature forming up, or that a planet was already forming and Rayquaza and Kyogre came after, and this makes me think Groudon came first and that the other two came after, but then comes the fact that Rayquaza seems to act as a superior to the other two, so maybe he came first as the planet was forming and stabilized the atmosphere, then Groudon was born and he stabilized the planet and formed land, and then came Kyogre and formed the seas. Only things before them were Arceus and his kids. However this raises a question about other planets. Do all planets have Kyogres, Groudons and Rayquazas, and if so are they all the same or does each planet have a different looking version? Do only "living worlds" that have the ability to support life have them while uninhabitable worlds didn't have them?

Why are mega stones temporary effects? If the power is inside the pokemon surely they would stay powerful after it's unlocked.

They needed a gimmick, so they thought doing something like digivolving (which can be reversed) would raise interest.

If the Klinklang line only appeared after industrialisation what did they evolve from? Same for Voltorb and Foongus.

Maybe they were artificially born like some pokemon. Voltorbs were born after some pokeballs got exposed to a powerful pulse of energy. Grimer and Muk were born from human shit that was exposed to "X-Rays from the Moon". The garbage bag pokemon were born when garbage bags got exposed to "industrial waste". Spiritombs were made by sealing 108 evil human souls in rocks. And Banettes were born from dolls that were thrown away. For all we know, those gear pokemon were born because some jackass at a factory stuck his dick in the holes of some gears to see if it would feel good, but when it didn't, he threw them away. They then ended up in radioactive waste and came alive. These klingklang things never close their mouths as a collective reminder of how their progenitor was a fucking cock sucker.

What is the apex predator of each region? Surely there would be one.
Humans maybe? The only ones in-game that even match the description are Gyarados, Tyranitar and Hydreigon since the games say they go out of their way to destroy everything and are always on a rampage.

How come there aren't regional variants for Baltoy and Claydol? Surely there woud be some for each region. Even if it was a laziness thing how come claydol aren't in every region?

I think there are. They're essentially golems/constructs of the Hoenn region. Meanwhile Golette is a golem of the Unova region. But the real answer to this and everything else, as you all know, is that GF is really bad at world building.

Wow, this thread really took off didn’t it?

Here’s a bit of a goof,

WHERE WAS THE VOLCANO IN CINNABAR ISLAND???

It's implied the gym actually is--er, was built on top of it.

If MewTwo is supposed to be the strongest of all pokemon (bar deity level mons like Dialga, Giratina, Arceus etc) how did we manage to make him like that? We still are studying pokemon to this day so would we be able to make something stronger?

Because Science may have an answer for that.

If the Klinklang line only appeared after industrialisation what did they evolve from? Same for Voltorb and Foongus.

Arceus must've been bored or thought it'd be hilarious to bring inanimate objects to life, or they're a product of science because scientists in Pokémon are literally insane/mad with power. Foongus might've consumed a Smurf, though.

How come pokemon only lay one egg at a time? Surely bug mons would benefit from laying thousands of eggs?

Maybe the Daycare Man stresses out the mother and only one egg ever gets laid, but wild Pokémon don't have to worry about an old man swooping in to take away the egg as soon as it appears.
Case in point: BABIES

...Hey wait a minute! Why are there baby Nidoqueen? Mewtwo, did you have a hand in this, or what? Is this another one of your experiments where you were testing to see if clones could breed, and the Nidoqueen and Rhyhorn clones were just horny enough to do it--OH GODDAMN IT, MEWTWO. Mewtwo must've heard the word "horny" and got confused and just asked the two horniest of his clones to do something thinking it meant their physical horns, and so they made babies just because and goddammit Mewtwo this was all the proof you needed. There was no reason for you to whine "but we're not of this world" the whole special when two of your clones mated under your watch.
:stress:

In the card game they introduced delta species for a bit, would gamefreak ever consider putting them in games?

It'd be cool, but sadly doubt it.

What is the apex predator of each region? Surely there would be one.

Humans, of course.

But the rarer the Pokémon, the more likely it is to be the apex predator, I assume.

Shouldn't an Arbok still be poisoned when inhaling Koffing gas? They are two different poisons no?

Poison-types don't get poisoned even by other Poison-types. Must be some weird immunity they all carry even across regions.

Whoever worked on Akala Island must have been horny as shit and wanted a thicc milf gf. It's the home of Salazzle with the reverse harems, Tsareena who is the "step on me" thirstposts come to life, and the kahuna is Olivia.

One goof I remember vividly is when I was playing my Black 2 and I was training a Azuril for a Maril for the Huge Power ability, my female one evolved into a male one for no reason. Shocked by that, I put it in the PC box and trained a Buizel for the rest of the game
Also, why Gamefreak hasn't fixed the issue of breeding Nidoqueens?

Also, why Gamefreak hasn't fixed the issue of breading Nidoqueens?
That always bugged me too. I mean that seems like a pretty blatant flaw there yet each new game (at least as far as I played) does nothing to fix it and there's no sensible explanation for it. Didn't the newer games after BlackWhite fix it? Is that really still a thing?

Because this is getting weird.

Then again, how the fuck is SkittyxWailord a thing?

Is there a reason why female Pikachu have a heart-shaped tail? Like what's the point of that, aesthetically? "Because it's cute" isn't an answer.
