Because the Twitter Trust and Safety Council (leave it to Twitter to come up with something more Orwellian than George himself) are filled with even bigger dangerhairs than Ren. Nick likely only got banned because some other land whale reviewed his reported tweet and got triggered.
 
You know what I just realized? In the article covering Ren being influential in comics, the reason listed?

Being an asshole on Twitter. That is literally the only reason she has the award, as she was an asshole towards a political ideology the maker of the above list didn't like, and that's fucking fascinating. He didn't list her as influential for actual merit, or accomplishment. He listed her as more influential, in fact, than several artists and writers in the industry, and the reason? Sperg-fighting people on Twitter on behalf of several people who are now fired, aggressively going after the supporters of a hashtag the writer doesn't like, and, while he doesn't mention it, her eating multiple suspensions in the process.

This is why she's relevant. Her being a shit to people on Twitter, and being an asshole towards other people.

It's uncharacteristically honest, but remember they're willing to go to bat for a blatant pedophile like Nicholas Nyberg solely because he was an asshole to people they don't like.
