DW will never make it better because they don't have too. Why should they give us more things? The only way we might see more generosity is if the game starts to slow down/die. It might happen considering Nasu is taking a break from being very invested with the game's story. And there aren't many good other writers that can make Fate look good. Unless they bring out Urobutcher again.

The writing is definitively a big reason I, and obviously most people, stay around. Everybody knows the gatcha is downright cruel. But a good gatcha game needs to offer something for free to stay afloat. Whales pay for the game, but the f2p players make the community that makes them feel so special for being at the top.

IMHO the story is the only reason FGO gets away with being so stingy with gatcha currency. If they downgrade the plot they're done. Say, Azur lane's plot is garbage, but they give a lot of free stuff to make up for it.

Sure, I know people will stay they would stay even if the plot was bad for waifu collections... except getting your favorite SSR characters is very hard without spending a lot of money. And whitout a good story, you can only grind with them.

I tend to count the events as story too, because there is also a plot and character interaction. Like helping Jeanne Alter to enjoy being a child or foiling a servant chocolate army.

Maybe they are not part of the "main" story but they are still a story. I mean "events" in other games are just mindless grinding. Say fire emblem's tempest trial's "events" are just a glorified auto-battle mode. So yeah, without the writing, be it serious or not, there isn't much of a hook for free to play players to stick around despite the awful rates. Not much other games don't do better that is.

It's kind of impressive how FGO gets people to whale considering how unneeded it is, and how the gameplay is (imo at least) kind of bland.

Waifu factor is powerful, and shit like America made me want to roll for Rama.

The Nero route (both of them) are the weakest of the game, ironically the best route is not even the one with Tamamo, is the one with Altera that add all the backstory she did not have, she appeared first in FGO and her story was the weakest, is not until Extella is released that she get a animation upgrade and her interlude touch the things that are stated in Extella, thankfully there is hope for Titan Altera/Altera Larva

It was also the thing that killed Last Encore it did not help that it was not simulcasted and tons of cut content was nuked for example there is a entire floor that was skipped for no reason only for Nasu to reveal in a interview that Kishinami and Nero fight against Tamamo in that floor

Wada got lazy and only recycled Melt design, the entire process to get Nero Venus is so ridiculous that you cant asspull that crap in FGO or in any other part of the Nasuverse (its something halfway between a Ascension and the process to create a Demi-Servant, something like Ishtar but without a human host)

Finally managed to install Extella Links and now comes the full wanking about what rank Charlemagne he is going to have in FGO when he is implemented

Unless dejews nerf him he is going to be a SSR, ironically he has a very standard Saberface toolkit except his third skill

He has by now two Noble Phantasm Joyeuse Ordre that is just Suzuka Gozen NP on Steroids and My Fleeting Glory (Charles Patricius) a huge ass castle that fly and serves as the hub of the game, for more meta jokes Charles compare it with the NP of Semiramis

And for those who are wary about the Nero wanking (tm) dont worry, both she and tamamo were sidelined and by now the story is full Charlemagne that is a more happy Adol Christin

Apparently the bridge on Fujino's NP was supposed to be rainbnow-colored, but the Department of Public Safety deemed it to innapropriate (probably because of the flashing animations that could cause epilepsy), so they went with the red bridge from the KnK movies, which honestly makes a lot more sense.

There's also gonna be a stream tomorrow from 12:15 till 12:45 pm JP time. They'll probably talk about the not Murmasa event and try to sell more merch. I'm hoping we'll get some LB4 info, but I highly doubt it considering the event has been announced for the end of march, and the current banners end on the 27th.

I was surprised by that move too but i suppose they learned their lesson after Last Encore, another thing that surprises me is that the master is no longer mute/invisible most of the time, he actually have a voice and you can see him/her in the battlefield because he/her is now there and you have to protect him for attacks i think this is better that the stupid thing about the ring on extella

Still this come at a cost, in the time i have been playing he barely interacts with the other, he just issue orders and you see short monologues in the story, so you dont have those long ass dialogues he had in extella

It was not worth waking up early for this, not gonna lie. Like after the CCC event now another Sakuraface? And a pseudo possessed by a male Hindu god of intimacy and love? There's literally a female god of love, lust and sexual desires that would fit Dark Sakura a lot better.

Still in other news i managed to finish Extella Links and i can say for sure that the story was and is a absolute mess, the game doesnt even know what the fuck it is, it is a sequel? a alternate continuity ? it did not help that was Higashide that wrote the scenario, that's right the guy that fucked Fate with Apocrypha

First of all the game almost immediately after booting up throw you that is a sequel, but is not until you are halfway there they throw you this

They're talking about Archimedes, the main villain of Extella, without him there was ABSOLUTELY no way that the events that lead to Altera (Child) could have happened, the game constantly remind you of events that happened in the first Extella (The fight against the White Titan, Your fight vs the Umbral star, the fact that people from earth are now coming to the Moon Cell etc etc)

If you got bored of Nero Wanking i welcome you with FGO Wanking, they are wanking it so hard that they have to mention it several times

When you are conversing with Archimedes he mention Altera child as a "Foreigner", Hakuno immediately make the connection that is a new servant Class and he is not wrong, Altera can be a Foreigner if you stretch the mean (not that Mysterious Heroine XX fucked with the concept)

There is a part where they try to explain why someone like Charlemagne has not been summoned before in any other Holy Grail War (cough FGO cough)

The official excuse of Higashide is that if you try to summon him in any way 10/10 times you are going to summon Karl (his ruler version) with memories of his Saber class because apparently the Saber one is based in the legends where he appears (like Orlando Furioso) because the Saber version only have memories of going to adventures, slaying magical beast and being a all round badass, the Ruler is based in the actual historical facts about him that is being the father of Europe and for ((SOME)) reason the Saber one is not registered in the throne of heroes

Sadly Higashide forgot that in a place where you can summon alternate versions of a servant from even other timelines and possibilities (Artoria is a good example), a place where following certain events you can register and can summon a servant that should not possibly exist (Jailter), a place where even fictional characters can be summoned if they are popular enough (Sherlock Holmes, James Moriarty and if you follow Moriarty dialog even Fu Manchu) that excuse fly out of the window, you can summon him without any problems and he could even fly as Charlemagne Lilly

Hilariously Charles begin to mention "Alter Servants" but he begin a rant about what we know are Alter Egos

Funny thing EMIYA point that summoning several version of the same servant is possible and he mentions Li Shuwen as a example, this come from FGO where you can summon him as Lancer and as a Assassin

Another thing that come imported from FGO are the summer skins for Scatach and Tamamo, heck you can even go the full experience because Gae Bolg Alternative and the Castration kick are skills you can use so if you want to go kicking robots and people in the nuts or kicking the spear Chilean style now you can!

Elizabeth got the most FGO wanking because she got Phantom Maiden as a skill (is Carmilla NP) and has a boost called "Elizabeth particles" a thing that appeared in the third FGO Halloween event

Nero did not get to much swag, the only thing that she got from FGO are her new skills that were implemented recently and a skin that first appeared in a CE in the FGO in New York event

Scatach in the other hand was implemented in a weird way because she has all her skills of FGO but her NP is Gate of Skye, yep she has Skadi NP for some reason, also several people i could talk in my exile told me they were heavily disappointed because the PV of the game showed that she would have a better role, instead she appears a a villain and only last 1 level until you kill her, if did not help that she mentions that Karl is stronger than her in any way when in reality she can kick the fuck out of everything for being a candidate for Top Lancer but >Higashide, sadly for those who are fan of her, she is just a stronger and more slower Cu Chulainn when you use her

Still the main story is a huge mess, obviously Nasu did not give a shit because you cant see his writing anywhere, not like Extella that is was full wiped-by-takeuchi-nasu is more like "meh-i-need-to-play-sekiro-nasu", the gameplay is fun and all but lel i would not take it to seriously
