They wouldn’t be that stupid, would they?

I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to talk to some defense lawyers and got told to come up with $50K now or take a hike, or something along those lines, and are trying to weasel their way out of it by hiring some sucker.

"Like Rackets told you in his oh-so-eloquent way, sweetcheekses, this is a civil matter. You're screwed. Pony up some cash and I'll see if I can negotiate the use of lube and limiting the use of the barb wire strap on."

Don't forget that one of their big dogs, Miles Luna, was talking shit on Twitter which makes them in an even worse position.
That reminds me. Miles suggested that he knew Vic was a creep before he got fired. If that was the case:
  1. if you knew before he was hired why did you hire him in the first place?
  2. if you knew during him being a part of the crew why didn't you fire him sooner?
Doesnt make sense to "accidentally" hire a known sexual predator in the industry unless there unless you are incompetant, there was not alot of legit info at the time or you didn't care until it became a public issue.

RoosterTeeth as a whole has been a lot more professional about this than a lot of Funi’s staff, save for one or two people. So I don’t place to much blame on this. They’ll still be involved in the case of course, but at least they’re being smarter about this than other people involved.

That could be why they want to get a lawyer/paralegal, make better contracts that can reign in their employee's about company business. Current contracts may not cover that.

That's what is astonishing. It also shows that they have not spoken to a Lawyer yet. Both Monica and Ron have Tweeted out that they "Refuse to Retract Anything". Congratulations Morons, your nonstop obsession with living your life on twitter likely cost you at an absolute minimum $100,000k in combined legal fees. Just to address and answer the incoming lawsuit. No Lawyer would let them do this. Any Lawyer would start throwing fucking furniture at them if they did this.
It's amazing, we all thought they went quiet due to receiving papers, contacting a lawyer and thought it would die down until papers were filed. Now we have confirmation of retraction + non deletion letters, but instead of contacting a lawyer they have chosen to sperg out all over twitter likely increasing potential damages and their own lawyer fees if they ever choose to get one.

Just so that everyone understands:

"Protecting" one's Twitter is generally a tacit admission of defeat/the lesser version of deleting fucking everything, right?

Because if so, then #KickVic has already taken so many Ls they could make a Tetris game out of it.

In this case "protecting" ones Twitter would be a sane and rational first step if one were to get a formal Legal Letter Demanding a Retraction of Defamatory Statements. Step one, unpublish said statements while preserving them. Stop the bleeding and go talk to a Lawyer on Step two.

It's a tactic people... mostly of the snowflake type... tend to use when everything has gone to shit and they understand they don't control the narrative, yes.

Not to sound corny, but I'm fond of referring to it as "siege mode."

He might be doing the same thing Neil Kaplan did, virtue-signaling now that this has happened, but in the process, making himself look like a jackass considering that they all were pretty friendly with him and didn't have an issue with Vic.

Marchie has toned down so she probably got the letters and lawyered up.

IIRC, Miles was the one that said something to the effect of the other VAs knowing more about Vic than him, and how he "didn't listen." That would be his cover for not doing anything.

Understand that other VAs have been talking shit about Vic for well over a decade now. It's a tacit admission that Miles didn't see a goddamn thing first-hand. He's virtue signaling.

That strikes me as odd. It looks like they're actually asking for these people to be in-house; i.e., full-time employees of RT. Is it usual for companies to do that as opposed to just having them on retainer but not actually part of the company? Serious business kiwis, please respond.
Well they Hire them now to get their shit together to be in better shape when they hire a law firm to defend themself.
Cant have those idiots on twitter while the case is in court.

There’s a fun game where you assume the talking points are true and see what kind of conclusion you can draw from them.
:cryblood:

Apparently their desire for “guilty until proven innocent” isn’t a meme, it’s an actual desire. I really want to send these people to Prague and have them explain to the survivors how the authoritarian left is the only thing that can save us from from the fascist right.
