Edit: oh shit, its an hour long. I only listened to the first few minutes. Started to hurt from laughter so I stopped around the part where he said some anime made him realize he was trans.
His voice makes my ears bleed.

Ok, so One Piece: Episode of Sabo is released tomorrow. I'm curious if the credits on the DVD will include Vic Mignogna or not. I might take one for the team to find out.

Looks like Rooster Teeth is lawyering up NOW. How in the fuck?

I know they started as like 4 guys just fucking with Halo fanfiction in their basement, but not having a lawyer on retainer as the size they're at now is crazy.

Speaking of folks suddenly privating their account

On their main account they just say

Do these cucks have some kind of playbook where they do all the same things? The cuck used REEEEEEE! It wasn't very effective! And then the next move is protecting their Twitter, as if that does anything.

they sure love to keep parroting both "ha, he will need to prove the accusers are lying" and "this trial will put him to jail"
It's common knowledge that it's innocent until proven guilty (aka Vic doesn't need to disprove his guilt) and that civil trials don't magically turn into criminal trials.

People joke about these people learning all they know about law from Phoenix Wright games, but I don't think that's true. They'd actually know more about the law if they played a few Phoenix Wright games.

That strikes me as odd. It looks like they're actually asking for these people to be in-house; i.e., full-time employees of RT. Is it usual for companies to do that as opposed to just having them on retainer but not actually part of the company? Serious business kiwis, please respond.

Also… so nobody who likely got paperwork has retracted yet, hmm? I wonder who will be the first to crack… hopefully after the first one does, the others will not be so prideful as to not follow along. It would be wise to do.

I'm pretty sure they have a general counsel. Most companies of their size have multiple attorneys on staff, especially when they have IPs to manage. Also, if this was in relation to Vic, they would probably hire outside counsel.

I said this earlier in the thread but in the most recent game they had a civil case with no prosecutor so yes its confirmed they couldn't be ace attorney fans

it looks and sounds like its one second from getting punched in the face

So seeing what seems to be more evidence then ever that they still haven't even thought of speaking to a lawyer I all of a sudden get reminded of a scene from Scrubs and what them talking to a lawyer is probably going to sound like

It sounds like a desperate attempt to avoid the up front retainer any lawyer is going to demand when they find out they're being retained for a lawsuit that's already incoming.

If they hire the kind of lawyer who would sign up for this on a strict salary basis, they will get the kind of representation they deserve because they will have hired the world's dumbest lawyer.

Rooster Teeth might have been in a better position if not for the dumbass voice actors that implicated them in all this (coughJen Browncough), assuming they're getting a new attorney and paralegal for Vic's case.

Almost like none of their lawyers right now can/are able to deal with this. :story: But that's just conjecture on my part.

Allison did claim she never asked vic to sign anything though. I have no reason to not believe that so I will go ahead and alter the first paragraph of the OP

Since they deleted their CuriousCat I can't confirm this but someone brought this up in a question and Allison responded with that she never asked him to sign Yaoi but she did get his autograph once.

Don't forget that one of their big dogs, Miles Luna, was talking shit on Twitter which makes them in an even worse position.

Normally for a company like Rooster Teeth (or most companies) an in house Lawyer would mainly be for things like HR, and for writing and reviewing contracts. No sane company that doesn’t makes its money via litigation, hires in house litigation lawyers. At least not at RT’s size. Google and a Amazon probably have every type Lawyer imaginable in house, including the consigliere that helps them bury the bodies.

My first thought regarding RT looking for a Lawyer is the Vic situation may have exposed some shortcomings in their lax and unprofessional approach to hiring, contracting, and employees conducting company related business via Twitter bomb throwing. Like perhaps dealing in HR, employee and actor and licensing contract matters requires a bit more than “the ex cashier from Hot Topic”. Them seeking to hire an in house lawyer may be at the urging of their quite expensive outside council. Who is probably yelling at them quite a bit as he examines the mess they made. The Paralegal job opening is more telling. That’s unusual in a mid sized business. That’s what makes me think that posting is more about bringing contract writing in house.

I would hope they aren’t seeking to hire a civil defense litigator in house to defend them from lawsuits, on salary? You would either get the fresh graduate from a shady law school who has student loans and no health insurance, or the guy too drunk or incompetent to work in the Public Defenders Office. They wouldn’t be that stupid, would they?

They may need the IT guy to deal with electronic discovery, but tbh we may be reading too much into it. It's not shocking an entertainment company involved with digital distribution of intellectual property would want to hire people for these positions.
