The only thing I'm shocked about is that somebody didn't livestream a mass shooting earlier.
What I will be interested to see is the shitstorm and this guy ticked off all the boxes, from a manifesto posted to 8chan to actually livestreaming the act instead of just posting a few pictures to social media or some dumbass manifesto Randy Stair style. He got a high kill count judging by pictures and what others have said, and he did it because he wanted to see division politically happen afterwards over guns in the USA (even though the attack was on the other side of the globe). Will we hear about this for months or only for a few days? Will 8chan or other sites lose a domain and hosting over this and will other unrelated factors be blamed for it?
I wish. The media will never shut the fuck up about how this is evidence that we need to destroy more civil liberties and invite fifty billion more third world shitheads into our country.
Memoryhole it? Maybe the video sure, but the media and politicians want you to know that 30 muslims were killed by a racist white man and that's why more should be let in, just like how that synagogue shooting seemed to get intense airtime for a while.
This is the natural human reaction to seeing an evil piece of shit murdering innocent people who are utterly helpless and screaming for mercy. Unfortunately its not a pleasant reaction to feel and thus quite a few of us are amping up the edgelord snark schtick because that makes us feel a whole lot less sad about shit like this
The whole thing is pretty tragic. I despise Islam but even that religion has good people in it. This guy will go down in meme-history for a decade or so but in return of, his future and that of the probably few good muslims he killed were sacrificed in the balance. Furthermore, the whole thing will just be used as ammo to push for more tolerance and immigration in the country he wanted to "protect".
Feels aside the whole leadup to the shooting felt like something straight out of a parody I couldn't help but laugh a few times, the actual shooting was more than a bit unsettling, tho.
