Literally just saw this on the news.
I have to say, he seems like a real smug prick to me, but I still like him and he's been a household staple for years.

I wish him well.

Pancreatic cancer has one of the lowest survival rates, be ready to mourn folks.

My fondest memory of Alex Trebek will be his appearance on Celebrity Jeopardy.

I hope Will Ferrell returns to deliver the best celebrity jeopardy ever in his honor

For years Trebek, like Dick Clark, seemed ageless and immortal to me.

I don't know anything about the real guy, but he was a likeable game show fixture for all of my childhood. This is awful news.

I have a former friend who drank himself into it by getting pancreatitis, being in denial it was alcohol induced despite the doctor telling him it was drinking a 1 75 liter of vodka every day. He has stage 2 and acts like eating healthy has cured it. He's gonna probably die soon and is in compete denial. It seems like smug assholes fail to realize the low survival rate of pancreatic cancer. Steve Jobs did that health food bullshit too. Didn't help.

I read an article written about him where they followed him around for a day of shooting Jeopardy. He apparently has had bad insomnia for most of his life, and really cares about pronouncing all the foreign words in the answers correctly. He seemed like a nice guy.

The question is "It appears that time finally just ran out for this old cocksucker."

"Who is Alex Trebek?"

I was shocked when Dick Clark died even though he had a stroke previously. I think it was because he always seemed immortal to me. Same with Betty White. She is in her 90s but still here. But all humans are mortal and must eventually go.sigh

A fuckin true bad ass.

Learns he has terminal cancer and goes on TV to tell us and crack jokes.

I hope to whatever god watches out for Game Show hosts that he manages to hang on, but let's face it. He's 78, had two heart attacks and a stroke already. At some point your body is just going to tap out, and stage 4 pancreatic cancer is the equivalent of a Dark Souls boss when it comes to the fight.

I'm going to mourn this absolute bad ass when he passes.

I hope he beats the odds.
We all do, but in addition to pancreatic cancer being one of the toughest to beat with an abysmal survival rate, but being stage 4 means his has already spread. Once it spreads, its close as makes no difference impossible to fully eradicate.

At his age, the treatments would be pure torture, and its likely his body wouldnt survive the medication long enough. I wish him the best, and his enthusiam could be a good sign, but at the same time it may make this all much more tragic.

I just watched his official video.

His "I HAVE to beat this, I'm supposed to host Jeopardy! for three more years!" line may have been the most human thing I've ever seen anyone do.

I started crying, I ended laughing, that, is an entertainer folks. And they do not make them like that anymore.

Welp, that's it for him. Legitimately one of the absolute SOL forms of cancer to get.

I hope what time he has left is comfortable.
Yeah, loved watching Jeopardy whenever it was on. I agree, Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer is a death sentence and it was the same cancer that took Stefan Karl (Robbie Rotten) from us.
