Huh, not posted to this thread in a while because it's been getting steadily weirder and weirder and weirder since @The_Iconoclast last bothered to post. Hngh.

Anyways, good job on totally distancing yourself from bronies, Iconoclast. I mean, I don't care much about MLPFIM either. I watched the brony documentary on Netflix and that's about that. (After that I decided to watch WW2/holocaust documentaries. Only slightly more depressing.) What comes to taking the bullet for literary criticism I'm quite open-minded, if I say so myself - for example, right now I'm reading Twilight, just to get a legit opinion on it. (So far, looks like it's not as terrible as pop culture makes it to be - I'd merely rank it as not particularly good.) But actually watching MLPFIM, even for commentary purposes, is where I'll draw the line.

You're braver than I am just for reading Twilight at all, m8.....

It's an example of his best work.
Its an example of his only work.

Is it wrong to feel that the post he made about some pony just gives the vibe that he desires said horse?

If having basic reading comprehension is wrong then yes. You should feel ashamed for assuming that someone describing a cartoon horse sweating and drooling in heavy detail and then remarking that these facts make the episode worth watching is attracted to said cartoon horse.

Shame.

There was also the hilarious claim that he'd come back when he owned a newspaper or some such shit.

It was mostly him being a nancy though.

I'm picturing him as a fucked up, racist version of J. Jonah Jameson.

"I need pictures, Parker! Pictures of Ashleigh!"

Naww, Jameson actually has some guts in the movies and comics. He'd be what Peter was before becoming Spiderman; ie spineless and kind of a dweeb, but way worse.
...you mean newspaper comics Spiderman?

(Newspaper Spiderman seems to be written by someone who hates Spiderman and only wants to show the character at his least appealing.)

I thought Stan Lee wrote Newspaper Spider-Man.
Yep - Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Paul Ryan, Alex Saviuk and Joe Sinnott! Newspaper Spidey is consistently much worse than Regular Spidey - he's lazy, cowardly, blundering and just generally not very good at his job. It's splendid fun.

I change my answer to this now. Mr. Sweet is this Peter.

Hey Ron! Hey Ubs!

Why not come over and have a chat with us Kiwis?

Jokes on Ron. I tend towards leftism, and I look like a troll, big nose and all. I also :ween: on occasion. Therefore I am fine with this label.

As an aside, they (the whole forum) are not deviants for being conservative. A notable portion of them are deviants because they shriek out Applejack's name as they have a comeuppance.

Hey visitors from the AJM Board: we're a disparate group of individuals, just like yourselves. Some of us hold the opinion that you guys are deviants because of your love of ponies, and some of us deem you all conservative because of the name of your forum.

I personally don't, and I know that you would receive a polite welcome here if you'd like to chat with us. I would hazard a guess that the majority of us wouldn't be willing to stereotype you or paint you with a singular brush: we have furries, conservatives, liberals (of which I am one), corgis, beardlords, shitposters, every flavor of gender you can imagine, and many more fine people who populate this place, and make it fun. I'm really very sorry if it came across as us wishing to invade or otherwise harm you, as we have absolutely no interest in doing anything like that beyond mining for more sweet sweet Iconoclast / Dr. Belch gold. The man is a national treasure, and we're just trying to preserve said treasure for future generations of autists just like us. :)

I've spent quite a bit of time lurking your forums and I can honestly say you guys seem like fine people, with different opinions and a real close-knit community atmosphere. We're really not so different.

edit: personally I don't care if you wanna fuck goats, as long as you're civil you're fine by me.

Hey Ron, not a fan of being called a liberal troll only because the "liberal" part doesn't fit so well. Admittedly, I don't wear the title of "troll" as a badge of honor or anything, but heck, if that's how I'm coming off, I'm not going to deny that moniker.

I don't label them as anything because I honestly have no idea what the fuck their board is even about. Kim Possible? Farting/belching/sneezing fetishes? Republican fanboyism? Macrame toilet paper covers? It is a mystery.

Following it on The Comics Curmudgeon (joshreads.com) is the best. On the other hand, Newspaper Peter Parker shaves and showers and has a beautiful girlfriend, so even his half-ass-Spidey self is light years ahead of Sweetums.

Ron, you really should come and visit us - there's a guy here who would be so happy to meet someone else who has worn a pickle suit!

'Sup Ron, Ubs.

Liberal is pretty on the nose for me, troll is... well, I guess that applies too, yeah.

But I'm down with discussing stuff with people I disagree with, as are most of the people here. We are not an unreasonable bunch.

Why is it when one or two of us venture a judgement on someone or someplace we are assumed to ALL believe the same thing? Oh that's right, reading comprehension can be a rare skill.

Anyway, Ron, Ubs - I don't know you and I haven't ventured into your corner of the intartubes, but I can say that the folks here are willing to have a dialogue with folks and they really ARE pretty welcoming! I'm brand new here myself.
