Scorbunny becoming Electric makes sense. The bandage may be rubber.
The term "Scorch" is sometimes used for electricity terminology as well.

My prognostication is that Scorbunny evolves into a genki waifubait pokemon that has fire/fairy typing.
Also here's hoping that they lean into the English theme and replace Gym Badges with Gym Loisence. Also the Team Rocket stand-in should just literally be an "Asian" Rape Gang.
There are all sorts of fantasy creatures in British Isle folklore that would make for awesome Pokemon. A Water/Ghost Pokemon based on the Kelpie or Bean Nighe, a Grass Type sheep-like Pokemon based on the Vegetable Lamb Of Tartary, maybe a Fairy Type version of Ponyta and Rapidash that leans more into their Unicorn origins if Galaran regional forms are going to be a thing, a regional bird Pokemon based on the Cockatrice or Griffins. So much inspiration to draw from!If this generation has more of a fantasy theme to it (more-so than usual since this is Pokémon we're talking about), that'll be amazing. I'm a sucker for fantasy--maybe we'll get more wyrms even though I think we've got enough Dragons for the time being?
The late 2019 release date has me worried. After the obvious rush job Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon were I’d rather Nintendo give these new games more time.

It’s kind of a shame we got a lion mascot legendary last gen, because a lion and unicorn would have been the perfect mascot legendaries for a UK based region. Maybe they could be regular version exclusive Pokemon instead?
Aren't you used to it?
I'm so glad I wasn't sucked into Pokemon Platinum. Diamond and Pearl's story was absolutely terrible, there was no way I was gonna waste more money on Pokemon. I did hear that Platinum "fixed" D&P's problems, but thats the point. Those problems should have just been fixed in the first place!
Surely they could have come up with a better Evil Team (I was actually rooting for Team Galactic you know) and a much better selection of Fire Pokemon.
A lot of people act like Gen 4 is the shit but I find Diamond and Pearl incredibly boring compared to all the other Gens. Gameplay was just slow and it felt like grinding when I wasn't. The new Pokemon were solid though.
Also the male protagonist was the lamest ever.
I liked all the starters (but hated how the anime portrayed Chimchar. What a pathetic baby) and they all had great, badass evolutions. Empoleon was a monster with Flash Cannon STAB.
And the Sinnoh Region wasn't terrible, it was just real hard to solidify a team early on.
Fan art when starters are first released is such a double edged sword (badum tsh), on one hand, some of it is fantastic, but on the other, some of it is better than anything we could actually get.

I love the concept of a wrestling heel Pokémon though. And people can complain all they want about him being a fighter, but he was still Fire/Dark. Plus, there’s already a bipedal giant circus cat fire PokémonI remember seeing all the fanart of Litten's possible final evolution showing quadruped circus tigers and ligers and whatnot and getting hyped...and then we got another bipedal fighter.
Hahaha yeah.Though at this point, I almost wish all the final evolutions will be Fighting types just to spite people
They admittedly do tend to get a bit more complicated as they evolve. The pre evolutions are normally the simplest looking ones.Hahaha yeah.
Probably not original with this but good God the new starters look like parade balloons. I miss the days when Pokémon designs incorporated other forms besides perfectly circular spheres and didn't use every color in the rainbow.
Well somehow they managed to do it before just fine. They admittedly do tend to get a bit more complicated as they evolve. The pre evolutions are normally the simplest looking ones.
I feel like that’s more a curse of 2D art vs 3D models. And those were cutscene versions anyway.Well somehow they managed to do it before just fine.

Look at this motherfucker with his busy linework on the shell. Actual detail without cluttering up the design while his final evolution still manages to top it in complexity. Starting from gen 2, the designs just get so overly cutesy, busy or both. Compare that weird water squirrel to the recently revealed ones:

Somehow, despite these starters being made on better hardware, they have less detail and texture than before. And I'm sure there are people who love the cute spherical designs but to me they scream cynical cashgrabs. I dunno, the gen 1 designs weren't all winners but at least they looked like animals.
Holding my thumbs for a goblin Pokemon.

Also, this fakemon is currently trending.

You mean Gen 2, where all the starters were shitty and outclassed early in the game and the only reason people remember them at all is anime nostalgia. Gen 5 at least has one pokemon that's good mechanically (Contrary Serperior) and Emboar is a pretty solid design visually.People often hate on new starters, especially with out the context of their Evolutions. Gen 5 was there only time they were right though.
