Well, Vanessa Hudgens managed to convince Chris that he could be an actor, so modeling doesn't seem like much of a stretch. You can watch Chris do a ten-minute dramatic reading in which he romances Ivy and fights Clyde; or if it's more your taste, you can watch Chris dance around naked in his bathtub. He believed that these efforts could launch a Hollywood career.

I still can't wrap my head around how or why he thinks he could model. I understand the 'tism aspect here, but there is some SERIOUS body dysmorphic disorder going on here to think he looks like people in magazines.

I think he's trying to find ways to make gobs and gobs of money by doing as little work as possible.
What does he see models doing? Standing around wearing designer clothes, walking all fancy like, and extremely fucking large paychecks.
Being paid for just standing around and looking pretty is Chris's current dream job. So, naturally, he thinks to ask the only woman who would know anything about it because he's already asked Barb (no way he hasn't).
