Still working my way through TNG and I'm about halfway through Season 3.

I have to say, all this Star Trek binging I've been doing has really made me pine for more standalone episodes again.

Too many shows are worried about the season long story arcs (Marvel Netflix shows, I'm looking at you), but I'm finding myself really enjoying the episodes that tell a complete story. A beginning, a middle, and a satisfying ending.

I guess I've always been that way. When I watched X Files back in the day, I always liked the "Monster of the Week" episodes way more than the ones that dealt with the alien conspiracy, which got so increasingly convoluted, that I just stopped caring.
Enterprise did well with 3-part episode arcs later in their run. Since Star Trek is apparently digital-only distribution now, I don't understand why they couldn't do a season of 4 or 5 standalone mini-films of 90 to 120 minutes each for one of these shows. You could trickle them out instead of releasing them all at once and brand each one like a movie.

So the Section 31 people have combadges, a thing that didn't exist before the TNG era. Bravo Kurtzman
This episode only exists as some kind of apology letter to the LGBT crowd after they killed the gay doctor last season. The whole thing doesn't make sense and it's a waste of time.

ITs also some kind of in the open agency and no longer a secret kabal of rogue officers...

I'm watching TNG for the first time and just got to the episodes with these 2 clips.

I never saw all of Voyager. Jesus Christ.

Voyager is the show that didn't deserve its actors.

It still kind of bugs me that Michael Burnham isn't Tuvok's adopted daughter because I'd like to see Tim Russ again.

So we have an FTL engine that places you anywhere in the universe you want, rather than taking a week to get to Qo'nos. And the ultimate human bogeymen are operating out in the open, of which a murderous mirror universe empress that was brought over for, what? Mommy issues? I have not seen the new season. I have, however, seen the reactions from a dangerhair that posts continually about how Discovery is the greatest show evar. How they had gays. How Burham was holding hands with someone in sickbay. "Totally shows love and deep romantic feelings." Despite it being a sign of friendship or even safety in many other cultures.

Also "The power of gay love transcends space and time!" I get the feeling this girl writes a LOT of fanfiction.

It's not really a surprise that STD would bring this type of audience. The writers on that show all have zero science fiction background and came from either Gilmore Girls (like the previous showrunner) or CW teen drama shows.

Is Tilly the exceptional one? (I only saw the first episode)
I've only seen two episodes, but Tilly's the one in the pic above that acts like a big dork to appeal to chicks who probably say "Hashtag EPIIIICCC" on a regular basis. She also said "fuck" once because making swears is teh funnehz.
