Ladies and gentlemen, spergs and tards, I present to you “The Candy Shop” by Nikolai Lockertsen. A painting specifically designed to look innocent at first glance, but becomes more and more fucked up the longer you look at it.

Personally I find it a bit edgy, but I gotta admit it conveys the effect it was intended to very well.

I like these sorts of images that reward you with looking at them more closely. Often, you'll find some neat details hidden here and there.
And to pull something like this off, the artist must really be worth his salt when it comes to composing the image.

I love that image. I don't know if there even is a better example of how to do it right. When I first saw it, I skipped over it, not even realizing something was wrong. Then I noticed the knife and the pie and thought "huh, that looks sort of like blood", then I saw the tentacle-hand and all that other crap.
In a way, it's kind of like what protagonists in Lovecraft-novels go through. They are blissfully ignorrant, but once they start noticing something, they get sucked down a route that reveals more and more crazy shit.
A true mindfuck, I love it.
