two days later, there were 3 tweets in response to Chelsea doing a comic book signing/meet-n-greet at an LA comic book store, and 30+ likes. Basically zero engagement.

Are there any pics of this "well attended Meet and Greet"? Heck if only we would have known we could have crowdfunded to send somebody interesting there with an issue to be signed.

Looked for some, she didn't share any(biggest red flag that it was a dud event), neither did the store's account or any fans that I could find easily. Though it can sometime take people a few days to actually look at their photo album and upload things if they're boomers.

It was also scheduled for a Wednesday between 10am and 12pm. I don't know anything about comicbook signings but that seems like a terrible time slot, people are at work or school and the ones living on trust funds or patreon probably aren't out of bed at that time. Did they even think this through or just slap something together at the last minute?
The whole thing seems very, very Quinnish in a way.

Probably some autistic thing to stop gooblegrabblers from showing up and oblivious to it stopping pretty much anyone else from showing up either.

I was interested in what sort of people are interested in the comic...

Going on the piles of unsold issues, the overall poor quality and blandness of the comic itself and the info @damian posted regarding all the other Nu-Vertigo SJW titles being canceled left and right, I don't see how this is going to get past maybe six issues. A fawning Polygon article over issue 3 popped up in my Facebook feed and most of the comments were either sarcastically bringing up the fraudulent Kickstarter or just scoffing at Quinn herself.

Subscribed to Polygon a little while ago, so it wasn't a huge jump. Was surprised to see it pop up considering I pretty much only see any news about her while browsing the Farms, hence it being notable. Mostly surprised that five years of public meltdowns, scams and failures still somehow aren't enough for most of these publications to quietly distance themselves from her.

If you'd see it anywhere, Polygon would be it. It's a lolcow factory and exceptionally bad even for games "journalism."

It wasn't a walking simulator. It was a "new school adventure game" which meant an on-rails story with a couple of branching points that ultimately don't matter. Telltale was doing it before AND after Life is Strange.
At least some of their games had characters that we're sympathetic while DontNod never has done that

I've often played with the idea the gaming press are aware of the hate clicks and tolerate them despite their obvious detrimental effect to quinns life. Either out of cynical greed or pure ego that they can't back down.

IMO Quinn would be very upset if they tried to tone down coverage for her benefit. Quinn's scams and access require she remain vaguely relevant and in her case, any press is good press. Even if her journofag pals question if what they are doing is bad for her, she views it as beneficial.
