Obama said 4% was impossible because he was a terrible president and should have been tried for treason for some of the shit he pulled to advance his agenda and enshrine "muh legacy".

now, giving maximum fairness to Obama, he was handed a shit sandwich with the housing crisis and the 2007 oil crunch. But he didn't do anything worth while to try to fix it, instead focusing on playing identity politics, sheltering political allies & general rent seeking, sending aid to any person who wasn't American, and giving health insurance companies an open runway to fleece the entire US population.

Unemployment under Trump has dropped to historic lows for a few reasons:
First, illegal immigrants have left, fearing his deportation rhetoric. This can't be discounted. I forget the numbers, but its a hundred thousand or so jobs that now have to be filled by reporting citizens.
Second, the 'gig economy'. You have people marginally employed by Amazon/uber that you didn't really have with Obama.
Third, perception of Trump. Trump is perceived as pro-business and general optimism. Obama was doing everything he could do to weaken America and strengthen the "global community"; there is no reason to invest in American industry when the leadership is making it easy to ship your operations oversees. Trump is viewed as business friendly. Investors are more willing to part with their dollars on ventures, because they're now viewed as less risky. This combined with Trump's pledges to make it harder to operate internationally and sell locally mean that starting or expanding domestic operations is a smarter and safer move than ever.

I guess tl;dr is that it is true the unemployment isn't under a president's direct control, they influence perception (e.g. investor confidence) and so they can influence it.

No opinion is so right that it can't be had by the wrong people.

"Isn't that the stuff made from apples you give to babies?"
I do recall he bailed out the Wall Street executives who were responsible for the 2008 crash and expanded on Bush’s tax cuts for the rich.

Also with Obamacare, he allowed insurance companies to run wild and force people to buy shitty healthcare at a shitty price.

One of the bailouts that hacked off a number of people was his bailout of GM. During that, he essentially gave political allies and union buddies first crack at reparation, as opposed to secured creditors who by law should've been at the front of the law.

If there's one thing I'll remember that nigger for, it's for pissing all over contract law in the name of politics, Chicago style.

That fucker should be ridiculed like they ridicule Bush but that’s not happening.

I wonder how those people will react when they're old and in nursing homes and don't have the power to deplatform you for being racist if you criticize Saint Obama or mention his dirty laundry? And people who were kids under him, or not even born yet, begin to say "You know, he sounds like a pretty shitty guy compared to the Presidents who came after him, why did people like him so much anyway?" They'll have conniptions bad enough to do them in, their whole life is built around casting Obama as proof that progressivism "worked" , when it worked insofar as it proved a black President can be corrupt, suck on his own lack of merit, or be just unable to govern as much as a Nixon or a Harding or a Carter could(n't).

Because unlike Carter, Barry isn't nearly conscientious enough to try and rehab his image by at least doing something productive like swinging a hammer for charity or as plebeian as jogging around the ol' peanut farm with some neighbors. He's going to play the racism card over and over and over again, and people are just going to get sick of it, they already are.

His post-Presidency was going to be paving over all scandal and criticism by taking credit for setting the stage for the glorious Empress Clinton years, and that went in the shitter before he even got out of office, leaving him no option except to cash in on "Whitey waited 8 years, then screwed us all like we KNEW he would" themed books and speaking engagements to self-flagellating liberals.

I mentioned this a long time ago but what I think will truly open peoples eyes on Obama is if he gets outed as a violent sexual predator like Bill Cosby, who used rape to advance his power and political agenda (imagine the shitstorm if that happens).

Because of the media pushing their liberialism in our faces, Obama will be continued to be viewed as a saint for many, even though that his legacy has been destroyed by Trump.

Lowkey, this State Of The Union is probably the best speech Trump's ever delivered. Like seriously, he's genuinely delivering a really good speech right now.

It's going to suck really bad when the TDS comes on this one. I'm just imagining Seth Meyers trying to nitpick everything he says.

Mhmmmmm...

One thing nobody ever talks about is the fact that one of the major reasons why Obama's economy was so stagnant was because he and his cartel purposefully destroyed specific industries so their circle of influence could buy them up at dirt cheap prices. It wasn't so much incompetence and Leftism as corruption and wealth redistribution into the Barack and Michael retirement fund.

What the fuck is this even supposed to mean? The Russian meddlers also stoked the flames of chaos with fake groups supporting Bernie, BLM, etc. Does that mean that socialism and racial justice are national security threats because people get angry about them, too? They call Trump a dictator, but for fuck's sake, this is some weird sort of dogwhistle for un-personing your fellow citizens because certain apolitical values that they have are a "threat to democracy." Like, "I'm all for democracy *wink wink*, but the only way to safeguard our democratic institutions is to eliminate everyone who doesn't think like we do."

Ford Motors, very briefly, ran a commercial featuring a guy who bought a new Ford pickup (F250 4eva!) during the height of the financial crisis; he gave a very frank endorsement of Ford saying "I went with Ford, because Ford didn't take a government bail-out."

This got a lot of traction and attention...and Ford execs were called to the White House, then suddenly the ad stopped being run.

Chicago Style, ladies and gentlemen!

I have grown to absolutely despise the phrase "control women's bodies". It is little more than an emotional thought terminating cliche designed to make anyone who disagrees with, say, abortion, look like an always male control freak with issues.

I find it disingenuous. If they had their way, I would not be allowed to call someone a faggot with my mouth, which is far less harmful to everyone and a lot funnier. Why is my uterus less susceptible to regulation than my mouth?

Seriously, though, these same people would love to ensure that women have no more than a certain number of children (overpopulation! global warming! birth defects!), so the notion that they are objecting to "controlling women's bodies" is absurd.

Not to mention that it's women who are primarily against abortion.

She didn't even watch ORANGEMANBAD's address before giving the Dem's rebuttal:

Stacey Abrams did not watch President Trump’s State of the Union address before delivering her rebuttal, according to a new report.

A source told CNN that Abrams, who was the first black woman to deliver the rebuttal to the president's annual address, decided to focus the Democratic rebuttal on Trump administration policies, rather than the specifics of his Tuesday night speech.

The source also indicated that Abrams wrote the speech she delivered herself.

Abrams, a Democrat, lost in Georgia’s 2018 gubernatorial race but refused to concede to Republican Brian Kemp — even as he declared victory — as she held out hope for a recount or even a runoff election.

Abrams had a lot of backing from Hollywood, including an endorsement from TV personality Oprah Winfrey, who was once rumored to be considering a run for the White House in 2020.

Despite Abrams' wide name recognition and celebrity support, Kemp narrowly defeated her with 50.2 percent of the vote.

I can see why she lost her district, she's lazy as fuck.

This seems to be a meme, do these rebuttals ever actually rebut the actual address?

The rhetoric makes it look like a women's rights issue, which IMO it actually isn't (rather it's a question of the rights of the unborn child/fetus/whatever, if that constitutes a person, etc.).

She also started the "rebuttal" with a made-up story about her father supposedly having to walk home thirty miles every day because her family only had one car. Because families with one car never, you know, arrange to go and pick up the other person at times like that. She's trying to copy Obama's "I'm an authentic black person from CIRCUMSTANCES!" bullshit but she's probably a privileged little shit like he was. Not to mention what the fuck her family supposedly being poor when she was a kid has to do with Trump at all, other than the fact that black unemployment is at its lowest point in history under him.

Also, since she made it sound like her mom worked close, isn't it common sense for whomever works the furthest away, they're the one that drops the other off at work while they drive to work. Sure the other person may get off early, so they'll either wait for the other to pick them up, use public transportation to get home, or get a ride from a coworker.

All I gleam from this is well she's either lying and if she isn't lying then her parents were really fucking stupid they couldn't figure out logistics for this thing, or that none of their coworkers liked them enough to give them rides home.
