I'm not a lawyer, but I think Jake has crossed the line into actual defamation, even by the US's rather strict standards. Of course, Skepticat would have to get a US lawyer and sue in a US court, and Jake is judgement proof, but he needs to be held accountable for smearing innocent people.

I'm not sure whether or not she would have to sue him in the US. There've been Commonwealth defamation cases against US defendants which have taken place in the plaintiff's jurisdiction. A restraining order against him would probably be unenforceable, though, and that's the only remedy which would be half way useful.

Jake has only started mentioning Mermaids Gender fairly recently. I suspect that his knowledge of trans resources in general is fairly poor. He's too lazy to give the contact details for either of the orgs he mentioned.

Jake's not normal. He's so ideologically fragile his beliefs can't withstand the slightest challenge so he must surround himself with people who won't ever expose him to ideas he doesn't like. The idea that people can talk to, or even be friends with people who don't agree with them is alien to him.
