Been trawling the Fan Fiction Friday archives lately, and it seems this fic hasn't been mentioned yet!

The Miracle of Life, or how many stupid childbirth clichés can we fit into one scene? And how obvious can we make it that the author probably meant to write about a human couple and swapped in robot/mecha terms at the last minute when they changed their mind and decided Megatron/Starscream was THE best pairing to write this sort of crap about?

Any remotely edgy kid in the pony fandom latched onto it and made their OCs with the Rainbow Factory AU in mind. There was a reasonable amount of "grimdark" (read: edgy tryhard bullshit apeing Sweet Apple Massacre and Cupcakes) in the fandom before it became popular but after that the fandom was never really the same.

You know, it was kinda weird how bronies used to claim how much the loved MLP because it was an innocent show that promoted friendship, acceptance and other good values, but it didn't take too long before the fandom and much of its content was flooded by edgy stuff, seriously, for a kids show about friendship, it attracted a lot of edgy teenagers and adults, like bees to honey

Vanity publishing isn't impressive, it just means they had a lot of money to throw away. The chances of getting published by a real company later are very low.

It wasn't the author who did the printing, but some group of equally autistic people with the author's permission.

Actually printing it commercially would present serious issues, much like Sonichu, as it is derivative of IP from both Bethesda and Hasbro.
