I guess the premise is supposed to be that he throws the hadoken and beats his enemies (here represented, appropriately, by variations of his own face) and then it dramatically pans back to him? Or is it that the hadoken is thrown by a pussy quickscoping lag tactic abusing detractor and only God Gamer Phil resists? In that case I suppose the faces represent all the various scam sponsors that Phil was hoping to shill for, getting blown away by 'exaggerated snippets of truth' or 'slander', or whatever we're calling reality this month.

It reflects the stream well though. Most would consider something emotive and charming or a funny series of emotes. Phil's is ego stroking nonsense, just like everything else happening on screen at the time.

That made no sense even by his standards. The only way I can see this all being true is if Phil omitted the point that Kat wasn't going to cook and he didn't feel like it, so he dragged her to a restaurant or she would have had to go hungry. Considering he couldn't make it out for a proper restaurant din din on Christmas Eve because he was sick, it's weird that he would see fit to take her when she too is suffering from the Choking Death for no less than the second time in a month. I guess this is still an improvement over waking up his sick girl to cook like he did with Leanna, so I suppose we should praise this inch step towards basic empathy.
I think this is almost better/funnier/worse in it's own way. Dragging his sick girlfriend out to a restaurant because she's been too sick to drive him to the grocery store that's literally blocks away.
"C'mon hunny, are you just not going to eat today? You can order chicken noodle soup AT THE RESTAURANT!!! All you have to do is sit there, are you too sick to sit!?!? Okay great, here's the car keys. I have to go find my bib with the pouch to catch dropped food and the sippy cup that restaurant makes me bring or they refuse me service. You go get the car warmed-up and I'll be right out. Make sure my colouring books are still in the car while you're waiting."

Edit: Aww, sorry bro. If I'd been 5 minutes quicker I could have prevented the dreaded double post :P

Am I the only one wondering why DSP can't just... stay up? He doesn't do anything physical; he sits for work and sits/lays for leisure. He could probably safely go 30 hours without sleep as a regular thing and not even notice.

Also my money on why his throat always swells/hurts is he lays in a weird position while watching wrasslin' for 5 hours a night and wakes up the next day paying for it.

This evening, Phil, while saying he needed money (forget about the restaurant) immediately for bills, said he had his internet bill coming due in the next two days, as well as a payment for a 'a personal loan' he took out 'like two years ago' to finance 'things going on at the time'.

He actually said "Personal Loan"? If so, this confirms my Thursday speculation in "DSP Loans & Savings":

When Phil entered his "It's not a business, and it never was" period, "Business" was dropped, and they became simply "Loans". During the Beg-A-Thon Pt. 3 (?), they were again changed, this time becoming "Unsecured Loans". It looks like, at least to me, he's letting more of the truth slip out as the years have gone on.

According to the article I linked to above [link], it's possible they're still "Business" Loans, but Phil himself has let this drop. Phil could have bought his furniture sets, or whatever else he wanted, with a "Personal Loan", a type of Unsecured Loan.

Apologies for the double post. I thought that little bit might be interesting to some. What was going on two years ago that would have required an new small loan to financially manage?

End of 2016, start of 2017? @EddyB43 started tracking his Twitch in December of 2016, which is around when he was trying to make streaming his "full-time" thing. Maybe one of our resident lore-tists can help.

Phil elaborated that he and Kat went to a Mexican restaurant to try it out. He clarified that it was cheap. So no worry there, guys. He still needs money. Obviously.

He also just went on a weird rant about how he has matured in recent years and understands the popularity of Minecraft. He also understands the popularity of Fortnite, and though the company ripped off the formula, they knew what they were doing and people enjoy it. Apparently 'Old Phil' would have said that they were all dicks and idiots... so I guess Old Phil was Phil of... like, a month ago? I noticed he was careful to avoid listing 'children' or 'kiddie' on his example list of insults.

He also just cracked a joke in response to a cheer about about 'The Incident'. He's in an alarmingly good mood tonight considering that tips are only at $133...

He keeps using 'coughing' and 'choking' interchangeably when describing Kat's illness. He even tripped over saying that a medicine alleviates 'choking' and then amended it to 'coughing'. His use of language is just so fucking weird.

He's gotten $160+ in cheers and subs today too. Two large $50 cheers and a few large tips. Consider he basically did a half-stream earlier, he should be pretty pleased with that.

Also worth noting that the two $50 cheers were from Swagginz and grazydream (as goldry_bluszco), so I guess they're both back to being paypigs.

Ahhh, I know there were some decent cheers tonight, but I didn't realize the early one had been that lucrative. This explains it then.

It's possible when you're totally sedentary (which Phil is, as you noted), that you stop sleeping properly. You're never physically tired, so you have trouble actually falling asleep, and then when you do, it isn't really a deep sleep. So you can get into this bad cycle where you feel perpetually mentally exhausted, but physically, your body doesn't need to sleep. I'd imagine this gets worse if you keep downing energy drinks to provide a temporary sense of mental wakefulness, but more physical energy that you then never burn off. I think Phil is probably in this situation and so he believes he is too tired to keep working or exercise, when in reality, the lack of either is why he feels tired.

But you also have to factor in entitlement and enjoyment. Phil probably hates playing most games and having to interact with the slugs in his chat for money, and is entitled to the point that he believes he should not have to stream a moment 'extra'. So there's nothing at all enticing about the prospect for him.

Is there a good god damn reason why everyday I check my Twitter I see people quoting dark asking for money because he’s got to pay his bills? Like god damn man he acts like he’s got a bill due every day of the year

Because it works? He's gotten $200 in cheers + subs (admittedly, $110 of that from was two cheerers, but still). And he's hit or exceeded his tips goal pretty much every day. And the days he hasn't have mostly been covered by the excess on the days he did. I mean, why would he change what he's doing? He's had whale after whale show up (or return). Someone tipped $50 tonight. He had someone tip $20 earlier that said they worked in an assisted-living facility (so relatively low income), got a raise, and decided to spend their money on him. DSP's fundamental business philosophy is that fools and their money are easily separated, and the amount of money he receives confirms that.

According to Phil if his YouTube channel goes down this causes him to have a new bill to pay every single second as per his statement from June, "Every single second my channel is down, that's a bill that goes unpaid." So I assume when his house of cards is balanced regularly it's a quite impressive, girthy, manly amount of bills he. . .wait, does DSP view saddling himself with debt and exacerbating his financial problems by pissing money on toys and useless lifestyle frivolities as a manly, macho thing that Serious Adult Heterosexuals do?

Also, look at the random shit YouTube is recommending me because of DSP. Here's Katherine trying to wake him up for streaming this morning
and here's a video that explains the origins of how DSP became a shut-in and requires his Kat for company wherever he goes
Gaddammit Google, get out of my head you creepy fucks

so much for FUN INTERACTIVE STRIM
No no, he covered that. You tip to 'help', which means tell him how to play the game so he doesn't stand there going 'I don't know what to do... how do I do it... I don't know what to do' for hours. As a result, Phil gets to have a modicum of fun.

He didn't promise fun for the viewers. He's not offering a product! This isn't a business!

BEFORE I give 2016 lore, I'll give some thirdhand information that hints the loan was actually in late 2015. Based on the mid 2016 Scarface Q&A and State of DSP Address videos (EDIT: I recall that the Q&A said he had loanS even by mid 2016, theories for the 1st have been either in late 2010 after he lost the Helicopter Support Inc job or late 2014 after the move), the views drop from his search ranking being tanked after being told by Machinima/YouTube (he flipflops on who is to 'blame' so I still don't know which 'ordered' this) to delete his prestreams & stream archives caused such a drop in income he was desperate and got a loan. Recently in the thread this was mentioned as a possible unsecured loan based on his credit history, but I haven't even watched the New Year's Eve 'Podcast' yet so I don't have citeable sources.

For 2016 though, October 2016 was the beginning of the Business Update vlogs with "Serious Update: I Need Help To Keep Going, So Let's Talk (w/Updates!)", mostly because DSP noticed another drop in views and thus ad revenue (YouTube Red triggered the death of his grandfathered in raw views contract in December 2015) despite thinking he was 'deep' into the Hardcore Gaming Season (DSP TM coming never).
My best understanding of this is it was the 'LeafyIsHere effect', a change other YouTubers like h3h3 only noticed in early 2017 (before adpocalypse) because their incoming views from recommendations had tanked. YouTube changed their algorithm in some way to 'kill' Leafy etc. and it seems like DSP was part of it.
Also I remember 2016 as the year the 'Hardcore Gaming Season' never happened: DSP whined about low views on No Man's Sky, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and this rolled into the poor stream attendance for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Titanfall 2, Dishonored 2 and the infamous Pokemon Moon rant that drew his ire to me.

Is there a good god damn reason why everyday I check my Twitter I see people quoting dark asking for money because he’s got to pay his bills? Like god damn man he acts like he’s got a bill due every day of the year
This is normal practice for DSP. Somehow despite receiving his Twitch payment around the 15th (45 days after the end of a month) and his YouTube payment around the 20th (based on recent whining in prestreams? This changed after he 'was trolled out of Curse' and now gets his DSPGaming 'big' payout via AdSense) DSP has spent it all by early in the month, so we've gotten fairly consistent 'the best way you can help is to tip me' for the early month... until his Twitch paycheck around the 15th arrives.

Am I the only one wondering why DSP can't just... stay up? He doesn't do anything physical; he sits for work and sits/lays for leisure. He could probably safely go 30 hours without sleep as a regular thing and not even notice.
Mild powerlevelling here, I'm mid 30s and a similar age to DSP... and fortunate enough to be able to stay home & get little exercise just like DSP. Up until my late 20s I was fine pulling all nighters, on a whim deciding after my usual ~7am wakeup to stay up through the night & go to sleep early around 6pm the next day for 35+ hours. Now by my mid 30s I find myself easily tired and ready to sleep come 9-10pm after waking up before 7am...
So in summary, DSP's poor health is likely catching up to him and he just can't do it any more. And that's forgetting his energy drink habit that I don't have, so that'll mess with his health even more.

As someone who doesn't watch streams how often does Patreon come up? More so the money he gets the first few days of the month because I never see it mentioned here or in twitter quotes. Does he pretend it doesn't exist or just brush it off as going to bills? It just seems like this phantom money that he never enters into the equation at the beginning of the month.

He doesn't really shill his Patreon as hard as begging for tips, subs, or cheers. He usually mentions it everyday in passing like his teesprings shop. However if someone doesn't like a game he is playing he will remind them that if you give money to Patreon you can pick what game he might play at a later date for a marathon if he feels like it.

He promotes Patreon mostly at the end of the month with, "only X days left to become a Patreon for the month". Patrons have so much power.

The likely reason he neglects Patreon is because he doesn't want to feel obligated to fulfil any goals. The Project 7 cancellation. The Mario Sunshine that got delayed for months. The marathon games that he played for 1 hour and abandoned forever. Etc.

Phil gives his audience plenty as is it with gameplay everyday. Asking for more from him would just be greedy.

He so easily forgot how important Patreon became the second his YouTube channel went down. That lame Twitch subs are the goal but Patreon gets to vote hurt it as well. Doesn't help the past 2 or 3 marathons he has done he skipped out of games. You also can't judge if people even want the event since sub whales push him over the goal. Then if the event bombs Phil is baffled because he thinks artificially hitting the goal meant everyone wanted to see this instead of one guy who might not have even known what the goal was for.

My question was more about him mentioning his Patreon payment. He has recently started pushing "I have no money until the 15th" pretty much on the first of every month, but I never see him mention his Patreon money coming in on the 2nd or 3rd. Since he has asked for $200 a day i'm sure he looks at the ~$600 from Patreon as pocket change not even worth mentioning especially since he used to pull in double that amount.

Quick question about the $100k+ he earns...

It's it primarily from 200-300 people?
Like averaging out to be ~$300-400 a year each?

I guess for the cult that is only ~$10 each a month... So 10-20 cheers a month...

Probably 1/2 of those questions are answered with "I don't know"...or "that's a stupid question" or "I can't answer when I'm playing...so there you go"
