This calls to mind those neoclassical paintings that include dozens of people, all of whom are weirdly clear and recognizable. One person who's picturesquely posed can work, but an entire crowd of picturesquely posed people quickly starts to look uncanny.

That's an overly specific demographic to cater to. I imagine marketing model trains to kids would pay off.
 
I don’t mind that being geeky is mainstream now so long as the newcomers aren’t pretentious. There are plenty of normies that aren’t irritating. The issue are the normies that act like they were nerds the whole time and everyone should worship them. Especially when they falsely believe they’re the first minority to do x or y.

More irritating than the fake nerds are the enabling thirsty white knights that are trying to get laid. Not only are they pathetic and transparent, they’re prone to alogging anyone that offends “mi’lady” (unless they’re gay, in which case they’ll white knight for the fake geek bro).

Imagine you raise a child, they seem a little different, but they get through life just fine with, albeit, strange interests.
They finally meet someone special and they decide to get married after living happily as a couple. The day comes when their wedding invite arrives in the mail, of course you were going, but its just a formality to RSVP. You look at the card and see this. Your vision blurs, your hands shake, and your head spins. Was this a joke? You knew this is what they liked but you didn't know it was this bad. You failed as a parent, you raised a fucking weeb and your failure has been broadcast to your entire family and beyond.

I'd just eat the muzzle of a shotgun immediately at that point if I was their parent.

Gaming just isn't a fucking identifier. Everyone does it. Even acknowledging gaming as an uncommon hobby is an instant loss. People calling themselves gamers in this day and age is an instant underline that they're stuck in their teen years, and calling others 'out' on being gamers means you're most likely following whatever narrative fashion/lifestyle YouTubers are shilling.
