E-Sports as a whole will begin downsizing, as investors are not getting the returns that were expecting. Some examples include:
-DOTA 2's The International 2019 will have a smaller crowd-funded prize pool than 2018, thus beginning mass hysteria that the game is dying. While DOTA's E-Sports scene in 2019 will be pretty much the same as this year, the panic from the smaller TI prize pool will result in noticeable downsizes next year.
-League of Legends will begin making budget cuts in the latter half of 2019, leading to things such as not even bringing live casters to the Worlds Grand Finals venue, since they already cut down on this by not sending English-speaking casters to the venues during this year's Worlds in South Korea, with them only being there for the Grand Finals. And don't expect something as fancy as K/DA at Worlds in 2019.
-The oversaturation of Counter-Strike tournaments takes it's toll, as people start to lose interest, not only because of so many tournaments to watch, but the era of Astralis Wins LOL REALLY kicks into high gear.
-Artifact's $1,000,000 tournament in 2019 will be a flop, and viewership will be so low that the 2019 Pokémon World Championship will have higher viewership. Not to mention that Valve will eventually stop updating the game in the middle of 2019.
-Blizzard's implosion will continue, as Diablo Immortal flops, Battle of Azeroth's ending will be so Horde favored that all Alliance characters will be deleted from the game at the ending of it, and Heroes of the Storm is shut down in the summer. In addition, BlizzCon will be unceremoniously cancelled, and the company will somehow go bankrupt towards the end of 2019, with various Activision staff embezzling company funds, causing a ripple in the gaming world that some people make comparisons to Daewoo's bankruptcy in 1999.
-Following the demise of Blizzard, Valve hastily rushes out a massive update for TF2, there by pushing it to be the #1 class-based FPS. The amount of TF2 porn will rise faster than Venezuela's hyperinflation rate.
-Due to Hi-Rez's incompetence, the Smite Pro League and Paladins Pro League will suddenly be cancelled mid-summer, without any notice. HRX in 2019 will be barely scraped together, like a last minute science fair project, and the event will turn out UGLY. But hey, at least HRX actually happened, while BlizzCon didn't!
-Ubisoft sees the decline of CSGO's competitive scene, and tries to capitalize on that by pumping more into Rainbow 6: Siege's scene. Unfortunately, they end up making a game change that absolutely pisses off the community, thereby squandering those efforts.
-The millions of dollars Epic pumped into Fortnite BR's competitive scene will suddenly not be heard of up in 2019, and people question the future of the game. Somehow though, the STW part of Fortnite sees a resurgence.
-After Capcom sees that pumping in money into Street Fighter V proved to be a failure, the game sees massive cuts in the scene. And Bandai Namco will fail to utilize this opportunity to try to prop up Tekken's pro scene.
