Edit - FFS listen to his breathing at 5:00 when Desmond comes out of the room and his dad is staring at him. That guy also looks like he smells bad too.

Dude, 100-fucking-percent right on. I wish I could find the link to the family in California that broadcasts to the world their pride in two of their three sons declaring themselves trans. (Ages are in the 6-8 year range.) Wow. Lightning must have struck twice at that house, or the parent's genes are very confused. Because what are the odds of two pre-pubescent boys having the same epiphany from the same parents? Or, maybe we put Sir Jeremy Occam (sp?) on the case, and find a simpler explanation.

And maybe, just maybe, the answer has something to with courts of law? (Wild, isn't it?) Like how we don't allow, to every humanly extent possible, children much under 12-15 to testify in court, because you fucking well can't trust what they say because, (wait for it, wait for it) THEY'RE TOO FUCKING SUGGESTIONABLE!! They'll say whatever the fuck they think adults want to hear. It's not lying to them, to children, it's making grown-ups happy.

Beyond that, with teens who identify with trans it should probably also be taken with a healthy skepticism. At 15 I walked around with a green Mao cap on my head and my Karl Marx. I umderstand that it's a better process if the hormone therapy is started pre-puberty, but fuck. I'm just not that comfortable with a teenager making such a consequence-laden choice that early.

As for Desmond, if he's really just having fun with this, then it's probably just fine. He's at the age were kids act like clowns craving attention. Give the little imp some credit. He knocked that one the fuck out of the ballpark. I can easily see him treat this as a phase, no problemo. What I'm really more worried about is that pic on page one with those fucking malnourished arms. Christ, he looks straight out of Dachau. Stuff a fucking chalupa down his piehole once in a while.

I can't really say for sure. What most struck about the family I saw was the dad, who had this bright pink shock of hair on his head, cut like mine. (Long on top, buzzed all around.) That's what struck me most, because, you know, it isn't like, all sketchy 'n shit. I looked through all these pics, but didn't see it. I'll try to find them later. I just can't for the life of me remember what research trail led me to them. But fuck it, these people make my point all the same.

It's like those horrible daycare sexual abuse cases from the '80's, when kids were telling these horrific stories about their daycares, then it turned out all to be bullshit because the investigators put the kids up to it. You can't trust kids words in cases like this. They are just too adult-pleasing, and don't have good handles on reality v. make-believe.

On the Dylan Hafertepen thread (and around the net) people keep posting, "this is why people hate us." Wrong. That's why people make fun of you, but so what? To quote a line from one of my favorite movies, "everybody's a screwball in their own way." We all get made fun of, for something.

But this is different. People conflate homosexuality with this shit. Most don't care to hear anything rational, like what this is, is really just horrendous, fucked parenting. Twenty years from now it will ne seen as the ignorant catastrophe that it was. At the cost of how many lives blighted? In the meantime, we all have to deal with Desmond is Amazing, because the bizarre always fights its way to the headlines.

How does a 3 year old know they are gay? How many of you knew your sexual preference at three? How many even remember being three?

He was out by kindergarten? Maybe by kindergarten you played with one sex and “liked” members of another, but I still don’t think kids understand sexual attraction at 5, definitely not enough to be out.

Maybe he saw Drag Race st two and loved it because of clothes and colors (although why were his parents allowing that for a two year old is beyond me) but that’s entirely different than being gay.

He was told what he was before he was old enough to have a choice and was rewarded for every behavior that aligned with “gay.” And, it truly seems like mom and dad started this whole thing, with slogans and catchphrases and ideas about new social networks, etc, to cash in. Almost seems deliberate.

what I'm wondering and bothered about is how not a single person even bothers questioning this, and how far the parents can go before being outed, considering how those massive sites/social media pages like NowThis share about how it's "stunning and brave" that Desmond exists yet never bothers to care what the fuck is happening behind the scenes...
