Found another channel by Clem called "CoolDudeClemRocks" https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjC0iCKnxDkmPfWJfv6HMJA

In one of the video comments Clem drops a bold bomb whilst asking about 4chan.

Also maybe this sheds some light on Clems belief of a higher power whilst still having a keen mind for electronics.

From wikipedia
Numerology is any belief in divine, mystical or other special relationship between a number and some coinciding events. It has many systems and traditions and beliefs.

That video about the spambots might be the most earnest thing I've ever seen on the internet, especially the bit where he gets flustered and backpedals after clicking on the genuine message by accident.

ETA: I was curious about the youtuber who sent Clem the legitimate-seeming message, and that account seems to have a well-established history of liking channels focused on old transportation and vintage electronics. Among these, Spats Bear is a man in a fursuit who demonstrates the build and function of old-fashioned appliances while cats wander around in the background. You just can't make this stuff up.

ETA, again: After looking more closely at the bit of the spambots video where Clem scrolls through his youtube pms, I believe I may have judged the man rather too harshly. He seems to be more cordial and responsive to his fans behind the scenes than the publicly visible comments alone would suggest.

It appears that Mylar and I have both had to eat our words:

Whatever Clem believes "evolution" to be, he hates it even more than he hates swearing.

ETA: If we've guessed Clem's religious affiliations correctly, I'm willing to hazard a further guess about what he thinks evolution is and why he hates it so much.

At least in the US, JWs like to conflate the scientific theory of evolution with the discredited pseudoscience of social darwinism. Someone probably told Clem that people who believe in evolution advocate "survival of the fittest," and therefore, evolutionists think people with disabilities deserve to die.

Clem is tremendously literal and not inclined to think deeply about things beyond his usual scope of interests. He might actually think evolution-believing atheists want to kill him.

As if Clem seriously subscribes to the 'There are still monkeys so evolution can't have happened' school of...I can't really say thought so I don't know, belief?

Also fossil records, birds of the Galapagos and the work of Charles Darwin. Show me the sky genie or other evidence of creationism Clem, you dumb fuck.

I just remembered that I had a dream Clement finally visited the forums last night.

You know you've been on the forums for too long when you are browsing the forums in your dreams.

EDIT: Another Electronic Workshop
CDC Electronic Workshop - Microphone Preamp Tube/…: https://youtube.com/watch?v=nvQFjvTHTpA

In certain shots, he not only looks like a man in his 30s but a man much older. With his (false) falsetto, it gives me this really strong, uncanny valley revulsion. His expressions and tone just sounds like an old man's idea of what a young boy would sound like.

He kind of looks like a middle aged women going through menopause with that haircut.

I know that feel Chimp, I often have dreams about posting on message boards or my computer getting infected with malware.

Or like, when Hollywood's idea of a teenager was Mickey Rooney? Uncanny valley, indeed.

Darned if Clem's voice isn't a puzzle, though. If he's speaking in a true falsetto, then I'm actually quite impressed - he's managed an extraordinary degree of expressive inflection within that register. But I'm not entirely convinced this impression isn't partially an artifact of his AV setup. For at least some of the preamp circuits he's demoed, we're definitely losing relevant overtones.

We've seen that Clem uses a spacer on his inhaler, so his breathing can't be all that coordinated. And in his outtakes, he regularly includes clips where he has involuntarily dropped into vocal fry. I don't think he has sufficient vocal control - what we're hearing as speech in reinforced falsetto might just be "head voice" with overtones artificially stripped out.

Personally, I get a bit of a belt mix vibe from Clem's speech - some modal register "chest voice" and a lot of forward resonance?

And you know, it seems like the suy might've tried a bit with this latest video. He tidied up his workspace - albeit "tidy" is a relative term - and when he appears on camera, he at least looks clean and like he's had a recent haircut. Sad, really, that the bar is so low I'd be impressed if he combed his hair.

MAN CAVE NO.1 looks to be yet another "fan" that Clem is turning his nose up to. Clem expects and takes praise for granted whilst anything else that doesn't fit into that mindset causes him to rage.

Personally, I'm not so keen on this MAN CAVE No.1 fellow, and this recent comment on the spambots video really crystallized my reservations. Here, we see that MAN CAVE No.1 objects to inbox spam, because it is distracting Clem from HIS messages:

mancave_creepy.jpg

Speaking quite generally, if one has difficulty navigating the world due to physical limitations or lack of social awareness, one starts attracting people who like feeling they are easily accepted and needed. Often, these are people who don't have much to offer anyone who is in a position to choose their friends. These people like you better when you are sicker or needier, because this increases their relative importance in your life.

MAN CAVE No.1 probably sees himself as doing a good deed by reaching out to someone who appears isolated and often visibly depressed. But I don't think he's actually being a good friend to Clement.

When Clem posted the video with his really disgusting bed, MAN CAVE No.1 told him to ignore the haters and reassured him that this was an acceptable way to maintain and depict one's personal environment. This was almost certainly intended to make Clem feel better, but it was still bad advice. Appearing to be a dirty stinky person puts one at an immediate social disadvantage, and a good friend doesn't encourage this lack of awareness in someone they care about.

Similarly, when Clem revealed his personal information to the world at large, MAN CAVE No.1 publicly insisted he didn't care, and in the video about the spambots, one can see he privately apologized to Clem for putting him in that position in the first place. But Clem knows he shouldn't reveal this kind of information in his videos, and he is capable of taking steps to avoid it - treating him like an infant or moron incapable of learning is not what a good friend should do.

It's unpleasant to see someone who claims to be a friend and fan give more harmful advice than many ostensible trolls. If Clem is, in fact, ignoring this guy, I would not feel too bad about it.

Actually it's about ethics in science journalism.

Oh it's another tubes unboxing featuring Clem's filthy bed and favorite sycophant.

Looking at the Soviet tubes he's received, one has a pretty good idea of the sort of SRS BSNS Tesla coil Clem hopes to make. And from remarks like those below, one really wonders how the man hasn't already electrocuted himself or burned his house down.

Here we go again, yet another video of Clem e begging for tech support.

@buster_kitten odd I didn't receive an alert about your post.

I can't tell whether its genuine incompetence on Clems part or just a disregard for safety. It doesn't take much to start an electrical fire, just look at Chris and the coffee maker. Clem has a whole room full of deathtraps.

@Old Greg , it seems like the site's having hiccups as Null's been streamlining things in the wake of the DDoS attack. I think there's a thread for reporting problems in the forum about the forums, if it turns out to be an ongoing issue?

Either way, it's legit scary. From time to time, someone local to Clem will stumble across his videos and try to do him a good turn by hiring him for some electronics work, only to bemoan his lack of responsiveness in later comments. [e: Not sure if anyone's actually succeeded in hiring Clement - available evidence suggests he ignores these queries.]

This really baffles me. Clem is unlicensed and constantly precipitating minor accidents through carelessness and inattention. He overfocuses on particular details while losing sight of the wider picture, and he seems to brush off safety failures that would give most hobbyists pause. Do these people want personal injury and property damage?

It's this same inattention that makes his video requests for tech support so delightful. He perpetually neglects to elide embarrassing content visible on his computer screen.

Remember when he showed us all his cache of Sonic porn? Jeepers. Whatever goes on between a man and Sonic in the privacy of his own bedroom is not meant for the world to know.

[e: Really, I expect this is another example of Clem's puerile farts-n-boobies humour, not deviancy of the Golden Knight variety. Still, yikes.]

Wait, seriously? Do people really hire Clem for electronics work?
