Too bad the "old duffers" like you are mercifully going extinct.
Old lover's perfume? Something tells me this simile is gonna segue into something.

I just said because of potentially-fatal peanut allergies you couldn't do my peanut experiment today. One jar under a pyramid; one jar, not. The pyramid nuts tasted better. What don't you understand?
How exactly that's scientifically credible. Did you taste the peanuts yourself, or was it a blind or double blind study?

Here's the thing: We can all tell him he needs to change until we're blue in the face, but I have to wonder, who's more insane at this point? Him not changing despite all the evidence that he needs to or us telling him to change despite all the evidence that he won't? I say its him, but not by enough to make me feel comfortable.

Yeah - why are we wasting time on this waste of space? I'd rather watch something funny, which this isn't (AND NEVER WAS.).

after re-reading that quote, I just realized that experiment sounds batshit insane.

I dont feel like reading 40 pages. How does stealing someone elses work translate to him as an over arching conspiracy to destroy his life. I know the short answer will be The Tism but I kinda wanna hear it from him.

Everyone tried some of the nuts (without knowing which was which) and agreed they were more flavorful. I don't know if it was "science", but I got a good grade for the experiment. I guess nowadays you'd have to use pretzels, huh...?

Golly-- Yes, sound points. Maybe as my feelings against those who hurt me mellows, so will my treatment of them in my work. And I'm always experimenting with different styles and new characters, but don't expect me to get entirely away from my stick-figure friends. They symbolize our own-self perception, being different and awkward, and forever feeling on the outside looking in, which is pretty much the theme of adolescence.

You sound like a child. Theme of adolescence? How fucking old are you? You're a grown ass man who does stick figure comics with inherent RWNJ biases and some strange fixation on calling yourself "Dr. Belch" or some such foolishness. You are different, you are awkward, and it's of your own damn making. If you want to do any symbolizing of self perception, you might want to try practicing it, cupcake, because all you're doing is tossing out verbiage to inflate your own self-worth, which couldn't really be any more inflated by this point.
Another thing: Whoever graded you on that experiment mustn't know their ass from a control. It's a worthless experiment and makes no sense.

Woop you replied! It's good that you're experimenting with styles and characters. It's not even bad that you want to stick to stick-figures (huehue)- Cyanide & Happiness has been relying on mostly (if not solely) stick figures for years, and they're insanely successful for a number of reasons. Honestly, I like your justification for the use of stick figures as well, though. It's a very relatable idea. ETA: I believe that there is almost no such thing as a bad idea or theme. It all comes down to execution.

It sounds like people also want you to experiment with things that enhance readability, like font and text placement. I agree. It would really contribute to the flow of your comic. Making the content easier to read doesn't seem like such a bad thing. If anything, if controversiality/originality is what you're after (since you definitely delve into that area often enough), more people will pay attention to it if does get neatened up in those areas. People are shallow in the sense that they like pretty things. Or at least neat things. If you wrap up your vision in a slightly more attractive package, you will definitely see more positive results.

Iconoclast, if you continue to ignore our advice I fear there is little hope for you. I'm not going to re-type that whole tangent I went on a few pages ago just because you couldn't be asked to read it or whatever. I have a feeling that all the other people posting here are at that point to. No one wants to help you anymore because you keep acting like a petulant, conceited mouthbreather who can't handle criticism like an adult.

I have more faith in Joe Cracker making a good movie completely by accident than I have in Iconclast doing anything to turn his life around on purpose.

PUT ACTUAL EFFORT INTO MAKING A GOOD COMIC? NEVER
Okay, bud, if you're happy churning out a shitty mass of lines and colors that nobody can read, keep on keepin' on. You won't change any hearts or minds, or prove your superiority over your detractors, or make any noteworthy impact on anyone, ever, but at least you can say you moved on up to the big bedroom in your mom's house!

Yeah, I wouldn't have sex with you either, princess, and I bet your vaj smells like a dead mackerel.

Now that the immaturity is out of the way--I have no problem with people who have food allergies; I just wonder why there are so many. I wouldn't want to be in charge of the country, but if I were ombudsman at the school newspaper, I'd see to it that there was more fair and balanced reporting, better pay for the staff writers, and, for God's sake, try to get them to act like they have some sense. I know it's a state school, not Ivy League, but we had ostensibly intelligent, at least partially-educated people acting like they were trying out for Romper Room.

Goddammit, man. You are still bitching about that college newspaper incident that happened a decade and a half ago...It's time to move on. Seriously.

The Republicans now have control of both houses of Congress does this mean you can stop being a failure now or do we have to wait until they control the presidency too?
