They can't double dip with the child porn, however - more than likely, if there's a lot more that can be charged federally, then the state prosecutor can submit the case for Federal Adoption, and if the Feds take it, the state is just going to null prosse (not prosecute) the charges on their end, and let the Feds take over. :powerlevel:This happens a lot with our drug cases where firearms are involved and/or the defendants had their supply sent through the postal service for distribution.:powerlevel:

Yes, they can. You can be prosecuted at the state and federal levels for the same thing. It's called the separate sovereigns doctrine. They generally only do it if they really want to stomp you into the dirt.
 
Do we have any fellow Oregon kiwis willing to drive to Where ever this fuck is arrested at? I want to see the court case. I bet there will be looks of utter fucking horror on there faces when they have to discuss the evidence

Not only that, but they can (and do) file a separate charge for each image found up to a sufficient number to assure the defendant will accept a plea bargain, usually with conditions that they give up some dirt on others involved and can't seek post conviction relief.

I'm not sure if that's true or just wishful thinking. He talks specifically about showing his nephew pictures of Nativus and telling him that the fucker has a crush on him and then showed him images of Nativus nude, and then planned to show him pictures of Nativus in sexual contexts (did he get to do that as well? He only talks about how he's going to do it the next day). Although his nephew promised not to tell anyone, SnakeThing and Nativus talk about what to do if his nephew told his mom and how he'd just say he accidentally scrolled too far past the SFW images.

Since he had to ease his nephew into the pornographic images instead of being able to show them from the start and how he still worries that he would tell others, I don't think his nephew had been groomed to the point where he'd let a bunch of grown men have sex with him, and SnakeThing had only planned on grooming his nephew to that point. The screenshots don't have dates on them, so I don't know how long it's been... hopefully this was fairly recent and he hasn't been grooming them for months or years more.

I just posted to the local news part of the communities section on the Oregon Coast Craigslist. It should be up about 15 minutes. I will share what info I get and look for contacts to go to his court dates.

I hope he doesn't off himself before he can squeal on the others. Its a legit worry of mine. He seems like the type of coward to do it. But I'm also hoping if he does that there is enough info in his phone/computer to get the others.

Suicide is too good for these people.

Instead of saying fuck a puppy and such... Mention the actual charges he has instead. Might make you sound a bit more professional.

You guys are missing the very best part of this fucktard getting caught and jailed- right now there are (insert number of assholes in the chatlogs/groups/friends of his) that at this moment are freaking the fuck out. My fear is the response they'll have when the police finally do show up. These are the types of people who might decide there's nothing left, and try to take a cop or two with them when they come to arrest them.

Don't get me wrong, taking one degenerate like this of the streets is a great thing, but there's more than just an arrest to think about.

I'm not terribly concerned about these asshats trying to take the cops down. Maybe one cop comes to the door, I would worry- but I doubt with the bullshit they are accused of the cops will take them with kid gloves, and I'm sorry anyone that would even begin to even THINK about this shit is a coward that I doubt put enough time in on the range to do more than blow their own damned foot off (which would be lulzy AF). But I agree with your point in general.
