I finally got myself a copy of Banjo Tooie at the convention I was at this weekend. Can't wait to play it.

I loved the first two games as a kid. I played those fuckers until my N64 broke.

also check out Grunty's Revenge for GBA it's a overhead style game but it's not bad for a non 3d banjo game, at least it felt like a banjo game unlike nuts and bolts

I fucking loved the original B-K and Tooie. I played the absolute hell out of them both when I was a wee lad.

N&B was an utterly soulless and hollow clusterfuck of gimmicks, ugly visual diarrhea, and a really shit storyline. The devs pretty much sucked out everything that I enjoyed about the first two games.

shame the only thing Rare did between N&B and Sea of Thieves (I heard this is shit at launch but I'm not sure how it is nowadays) was just shitty kinect games...

Over a decade later, wonder if Rare doesn't regret getting bought out by Microsoft.

Basically none of the old school guys are left there to regret it tbh
Last I recall, Gregg Mayles and Robin Beanland are still there, they did work on Sea of Thieves.

Now that I think about it, Gregg was pretty much the father of the B-K series (for instance, he designed the layouts for the levels), so maybe that's why Yooka-Laylee was such a disappointment in spite of having a number of other series veterans working on it.
