The alt-right has been around since 2010, that's when Spencer's National Policy Institute founded the website "Alternative Right." The time period I'm talking about was when Milo first started rising and self described himself as alt-right, there was a window where the movement wasn't explicitly ethno-nationalist but shared the same memes and talking points and media outlets such as Breitbart. It's confusing because the NPI have always explicitly been ethno-nationalist but Milo co-opted their brand. Once more information was known by the key figures about what they supported the original alt-right split into the modern alt-right and alt-light. Sargon was very sympathetic to the Milo brand of alt-right.

Trump has like weekly rallies where he brings random people on stage to speak he's jumps out of his car to shake hands with random fire fighters. I'd love to meet him but it's not a huge deal

The alt right term at that point had been pretty nebulous but all the alt light fags we're pretending to be different but at the least allied with them it wasn't until that Hillary speech that they tried to distance themselves from it
