There is one thing I realized recently... 2019 is going to be pretty big year for TV animation in number of shows coming.
But also, female characters are about 80% of the leads. Here is the list of upcoming shows for major cartoon TV channels and Netflix. Only family/kids shows.
Girl is main character:
Loud House spin-off (Nickleodeon)
Rainbow Rangers (Nick Junior)
Amphibia (Disney)
Owl House (Disney)
The Rocketeer (Disney Junior)
Infinity Train (Cartoon Network)
DC Super Hero Girls (Cartoon Network)
Twelve Forever (Netflix)
Carmen Sandiego reboot (Netflix)
Hilda (Netflix)
Boy is main character
Thundercats Roar (Cartoon Network)
Victor and Valentino (Cartoon Network)
Dragon Prince (Netflix)
Tales of Arcadia (Netflix)

If I forget anything, please correct me.

I don't want this list to be seen as "SJWs are controlling animation industry" or "this is end of the world". Just a neutral list. This may be just accidental or one-time thing and 2020 and later years will have more shows with boys as leads. This may be the peak of "female main character" trend.
My point is... 80% of upcoming artoons are about girls and those people still are complaining about lack of difersity and that "they are not heard" or that TV executives are sexist. They based advertising of their show on that fact and think they are special and groundbreaking. Sorry, no. Girl leads are standard thing.
If you see this as a part of "culture war", you already "won".
Shut up about how special you are.

She's quit Twitter because of "harassment"!

What was this "harassment"? From a cursory look at tweets @ her, it looks people are mad about all her "kill all men" tweets.

Someone made the very good point that "kill all men" would include transmen. Whoops.

And, there's yet more drama illustrating how Kate Leth isn't the perfect SJW she makes herself out to be. If you didn't know, back when Kate worked at a comic book store, she started a group called The Valkyries for female comic book store employees. The Valkyries are now being accused of "white feminism" and ignoring the concerns of women of color.

How White Feminism Drove Me Out of the Valkyries

It really looks like Women in Animation and The Valkyries are just fronts for Marge's and Kate's cronyism and they never cared about helping the types of people who really needed it.

To be really honest, if we're talking in terms of Cartoons we've got a series of people who're women who've all made some of the biggest, most commercially successful shows in the last decade and this is what makes WiA and Ellation such an insult and blatant social engineering program designed for slush funding.

Darfon Nefcy - Star Vs the Forces of Evil

Lauren Faust - My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Rebecca Sugar - Stephen Universe

But of course, when you consider that it smells more like someone knows that slap a woman on the front, make it cutsey looking and you can print a bunch of cash for quick returns. It's the same scamble we used to see in the late 90s through to the mid 2000s in anime where if a show hit it big domestically there'd be a dozen copycats in its wake.

Oh her posting those fucking Sailor Moon gifs is such a pleb way of trying to pretend she likes anime now.

She's a commercial disaster as a writer I saw a post on the Crunchyroll thread about her sales figures her Hellcat run (top sales 7,000) and her Spell on Wheels (didn't break 7k at its height, dropped to less than 700 units at the end) were both utter flops commercially, but clearly she knows how to make the right connections to keep getting gigs.

Never mind the laughable time she claimed she was quitting mainstream comics because even the then Soy-Happy Marvel editor in chief wouldn't let her make every fucking thing gay and talking about how gay they all were as the only plot that interested her.

Because, ya know, the creative arts are so fucking starved of gay people.

It's not like we've never seen this before. It's not even like we've never seen it over and over and over and over and over again.

She may well be worthy of her own thread at some point, though I'm not sure where we would get content if she's quit Twitter.

... assuming she can stay away, anyway. She might have the willpower of a Wil Wheaton.

Kate Leth probably does deserve a thread, but, one thing to Kate's credit, as far as trainwrecks go, she's at least somewhat aware she's a train wreck and she's deleted ALL of her embarrassing crap. It would be pretty hard to gather evidence for an OP.

If someone wanted to start documenting her now, they'd have save EVERYTHING she does, even things that seem innocuous. For example: there was absolutely nothing wrong with her tweeting a bunch of times about hating anime, until she started working for Crunchyroll and pretending to love anime.

According to AnimationMagazine.net, here's the basic plot:

"In High Guardian Spice, the lives of four fierce girls — Rose, Sage, Thyme and Parsley — converge at High Guardian Academy, the one place where they can stumble towards adulthood while becoming the heroes they’ve always admired. As they master the ways of battle and sorcery, our foursome form allegiances and comical kinships, uncover legacies and betrayals, and discover their true identities while preparing to protect the world from an ominous unknown threat."

This premise could not be more generic if they tried.

It gets better: Go to https://www.rayetoons.com/ and have a poke around.

Children's Fun Filled Fact Science Corner:

  1. This show has been in production for a year. During the trailer we saw two unfinished backgrounds. All the other HGS artwork? Raye's work.
  2. Storyboards tab - The show is a rejected idea from Nickelodeon for their shorts program from 2015.
  3. Raye seems actually pretty nice and is a rare FtM Transman. Also means he's not involved in the writing of his own fucking show as the writing room is a girls only club.

Meanwhile, a CR staffer decided dunking on their subscribers some more is the obvious solution:

They were also the one Raye pitched the show to directly.

I wish these pansies would stop skirting around the real issue here. This is literally Girl's Show: The Anime. There's nothing new or unique about it. There's tons of other magical girl/magic school with female lead shit all over the place in anime to the point where it's pretty much required to do something unique in order to stand out from the crowd. Madoka, Princess Tutu, Utena, Little Witch Academia, etc. They've all done their own thing and they succeeded in the genre.

The fact that this nonsense didn't even bother showing us a sneak peek to distinguish it from the rest of the lot just shows that it's nothing more than a cheap slapdash product. It's just shit. That's all it is and no amount of hiring diversity, current politics, or other pulled-out-of-ass explanation is going to change that.

It's just. Shit.

What I want to know is, who fronts the money for this? Who has got this disposable cash bonfire to burn on tumblr rainbowhairs?
