wtf is this shit

Today on: The Onion or IRL 2K18 Edition.

The guys over in /a/ were worried after comics, and games, anime would be next. Looks like their fears were well founded.
And then this entire web of SJW cultural hegemonism will accelerate its collapse as the Japs promptly have none of it.

Followed by articles about Japan's muh soggy knee problems, and how Asians are just as bad as whiteys.

The reaction to that shit looking anime is a tad overblown methinks, usually when something looks bad - you trash it and move on, but calling this the death of anime or the SJW's having any influence is a bit hyperbolic. Anime is and will proably still be produced in 100 years in Japan, South Korea, and a lesser extent China and we all know how much those countries care about PC culture, i.e they don't. If Cruncyroll works the same as Netflix, then they'll get the message when nobody watches their POS anime and won't renew it.

Hoo boy, you had to ask.

Recently, Crunchyroll financed this fucking thing:

Everything about this trailer makes one cringe like a Sarin Gas victim. None of the actual plot is covered, or concepts, or characterization, just several minutes worth of spouting about diversity. Crunchyroll's weeb userbase was having none of this shit. Not only was this yet more evidence that CR really has, as expected, increasingly being overtaken by Social Justice (this show is made by an honest-to-god group of rainbowhaired white women who are members of a group demanding Anime be inclusive, apparently forgetting Studio CLAMP exists and that women are responsible for some of the best known shows in history), but it's doing this while their site is a fucking shit-show (it's a streaming site that runs Flash, ffs, and that's being discontinued in like 3 months), and their translations are a fucking abortion (ask any Jojo fan).

Digibro did a lengthy call-out video breaking down every single one of the above. Digibro himself is basically a lolcow, but Crunchyroll recently went nuclear to shut him up, and you know how well that works against shatteringly Autistic people.

Fucking fuck, this is why I just archive everything in offline storage like anime and movies. Part of me fears and loathes the idea that the future will see an increase in SJWs and identity politics invading my hobbies and my safehaven will be my backups of the actual good shit once no more good shit is made.

On the other hand, another part of me rationalizes that it can't continue like this forever, and in the case of anime there are quite a few studios that don't give a shit about identity politics and just want to make the next entertaining animation show.

Also fuck CR. Never used 'em. Just go HorribleSubs on Nyaa or some shit, they cover most animes these days anyway and without needing to be paid(CR still does that paid membership shit, right?).

At the dawn of the second age, the boards of power were formed in the realm of 4chan. Each board granted to it's user immense power over the realm of culture. Unto the trolls and troublemakers, full of spite were given /b/, to the table top player, fat and sweating mountain dew was given /tg/, to the gamers proud and nerdy, was given /v/, and unto the weebs innocent of all was given /a/. But they were all of them deceived. For in the darkest part of NSFW, another board was forged. The master board /pol/. One board to rule them all, and one board to bind them. As the machinations of the culture war sweep across all the realms of man, so are the boards of power bound to /pol/.

Because /pol/ is always right.

Elucidate.
Crunchyroll's built-in player uses Macromedia Flash.

It sucks a mountain of dicks and doesn't allow you to rewind properly. People have been yelling at them to adopt HTML5 since forever ago, and when Chrome dropped mainline flash support in July (and Mozilla followed suit), a lot of people were left unable to access the site. Crunchyroll still demanded you load Flash to use the site, and didn't even offer an HTML5 option until literally a month and a half ago.

Other problems, like Crunchyroll's infamously slipshod translation, broken comments sections, and complete lack of HD streams, have persisted literally forever and Crunchyroll pathologically has refused to address them. It's been getting worse and worse and people have been getting less and less for their money these days, because apparently Crunchyroll has forgotten that the weeb community will direct buy and pirate rather than put up with their shit.

Of all sad words, of tongue or pen,
the saddest are these:
"/pol/ was right again."

One of the reasons I covered GG as much as I did, and continue to give what insight I can into that conflict is this: GG was simply the first. It won't be the last. No matter what stereotypical nerd hobby you love, there will be a bunch of screeching unqualified harridans seeking to gain a foothold in it, gatekeep over it, and turn it into one more avenue for them to scream propaganda at you. They won't always be effective - the free market means these assholes will always fail - but the fact remains that they will drag as much with them into the abyss as possible, because they would sooner destroy a franchise than let the actual fans have it.

It's critical you understand why they do this: In their worldview, you are not allowed escapism. You are not allowed indifference. You are not allowed legitimate ignorance. Your purpose is to sit there, shut up, and Listen and Believe when they screech Autistically at you. Their doctrine does not allow room for questions, doubt, discussion, or debate. They are moral absolutists and every bit as morally reprehensible as the religious nutjobs that used to do this exact same shit decades ago (and just as prone to sexual indiscretions, as evidenced by our threads here).

Your only recourse is to either cut the losses and flee, waiting for capitalism to deal with the problem (it will, eventually) or dig in your heels and prepare to fight Autism with more Autism.

I don't think they can subvert anime, the japs won't give even a single ounce of a fuck about some filthy gaijin landwhales' retarded screeching.
