Aside from that award, which wasn't likely awarded on the basis of a general election, I count five positions in the Democratic party apparatus.
Our Revolution may be viewed by some as part of the Democratic party apparatus, but they do not view themselves that way, nor are they viewed that way by the official Democratic party apparatus. Some view them/us as "Russian spies", in fact :)

There's plenty of "authorised" Brianna pics that were used in various fluff so why not go with them. Sure the epic biker gamer girl pic is airbrushed to fuck but it makes her look less like a praying mantis in a human suit so why not that over the "disappointed grandma is disappointed" you went with.
If you just said something like "Brianna thought it looked my offical" or "we thought it would connect with genestealer hybrid voters" then I would say fair enuff and leave it but you just get evasive.
Most of the official pics involved her having a red streak in her hair that she didn't want to be seen as having now that she's all political.
It was just a selection of shitty pics to choose from, and she would only approve certain ones. I liked the snarl ones best but she didn't like those ones.
That's some Warren level contradiction
Haha sure is. We should be kept apart from each other, it leads to endless boring.

Then I'll correct my statement: You are not being elected to anything by the general population of Malden, and these elections do nothing to demonstrate that you have your finger on the pulse of local opinion.

I guess I could semi agree with that. I'd say it's an indication I'm a bit more on the pulse than anyone here though. But it's a valid point that only Democrats and progressives elected me to things so far. I got a bunch of my friends into office in the general last year, but that's less provable.
The Ward 2 Council election next year would be a clearer indication of if I really know Malden like I think I do. We'll see if I can afford to run or not!

There are at least a couple of people in this thread who appear to be actively involved in politics in your area, and their predictions about local developments appear to be more accurate than yours. However, as you say, we'll see in time.

I've noticed that stoner-dude culture thinks that's all there is. Everything else is just some foreign gray blob that only exists when they need to blame something.
A lot of it is because they never ever interact with that "gray blob" which makes up the majority of the world.
And then they're so surprised why things keep not going their way. Must be some evil foreigners... what was all those movies in the 80s, oh yeah! Russia must have been involved!

Thank goodness there is so much more in the world than that tiny little schism. I'm not sure we would have any semblance of modern luxury and overproduction in these easy times if it were all up to them.
It's a shame they're as loud and deluded as they are.

Wow, what the fuck happened in these last few pages? You ok Warren?

You brought something up about people who are in favor of free speech contradicting themselves when it comes to antifa.

I want to make sure you actually understand the situation, because your comments make it seem otherwise. The problem pro-free speech people have with antifa is that they believe they should be able to physically assault people to get them to stop practicing their own free speech. I don't really care who they say they're attacking at that point, they're the ones going around attacking people.

I've never seen anyone here say anyone shouldn't be allowed to call people nazis. They might call the practice stupid, but I've not seen anyone trying to stop it. But for some reason you can't even frame the situation honestly. You keep talking about old jewish ladies handing out flyers. We're talking about people who assault people with deadly weapons. Are you pro or anti hitting people with deadly weapons for saying things you disagree with?

I personally am against that. Now I don't much like white supremicists or nazis either, but firstly, antifa calls everyone nazis, and secondly, there's a lot of people I don't agree with, and I don't think they want me hitting them.

No, what I'm saying is that this whole antifa conversation is really repetitive and keeps derailing conversations. You at least seem reasonable about it but Ketone is as nutso as I am, and it just leads to boring when we argue for pages, because he's the same kind of non self reflective type that I am. Like 2 SIRIs arguing or something.

Am I a stoner dude generalization, or an SJW generalization? I thought I was a Bernie Bro generalization.
Or maybe, y'know, it's not a conspiracy?
You're as defensive as you accuse me of being (and I probably am). And you're also an extremely fragile baby who thinks everything is about you. It's no wonder you simultaneously hate me and want me to be your "friend". We have a lot in common :)

Well this went downhill quickly. I'm surprised that Lynch is so beloved here. And that posters are so unwilling to believe that an Irish catholic democrat from Massachusetts might be a closet alcoholic. It's like you don't even know us.

I skipped a few pages so I don't know everything that's going on.

Warren you're a funny case. You like sounding like a drugged out space cadet but your line about how a lot of lawyers are dumb and they go into politics when they fail at law is probably one of the smartest things you've said. Especially in Massachusetts where New England School of Law and Suffolk are pipelines to the state house.

I think there's some overestimation of how beloved Lynch is in the district. He's no Gerry Studds, who was a beloved congressman who won despite attempts to gerrymander him a district he'd lose in. Lynch keeps winning because he's not terrible enough to vote out, and the Southie union machine was unbeatable. A lot of people think the demographics have changed recently and that's not true anymore, but there's no way to tell unless he has a decent opponent, which he's only ever had once. Even his biggest supporters agree that he's a perfectly mediocre congressman. I know that Warren's a fun punching bag, but most of the advice about the district I've been reading here is based more on wanting Warren to be wrong than actually being about the district. It's a pretty geographically, politically and economically diverse district, with some of the richest areas in the state, and you guys are making it sound like some working class rust belt small town.

She has apparently let about 5 pictures of her exist on the entire internet or something. And they're all really bad.

I think that really old one of her leaning against the motorcycle isn't that bad, but it really doesn't look like her at all. She also has one of her from the GmerGate era which was a MySpace angle of her, which she used as her profile for awhile. That one isn't bad either, but again, doesn't actually look like her at all. I was actually pretty surprised when she gave her first "I am totally being hounded from my home by rabid misogynerds, and have had to go into hiding" interview, how different she looked from her various profile pictures.

I haven't seen anyone say any of that. I have said that I'm unconvinced by Warren's assertions (I can't call them arguments). Are you sure you're reading what's being written?

Mostly because of you. Which a lot of people agree with.
You keep doing these weird appeals to a crowd that doesn't exist, broheim.
Who is it you're assuming agrees with you?

Am I a stoner dude generalization, or an SJW generalization? I thought I was a Bernie Bro generalization.
You're an aging pothead with minimal employment, liberal political stances, and a somewhat fragile temperament combined with a distinct lack of maturity and personal success.
Hate us for the labels if you like, but feel free to offer anything that would discredit them applying to you.
You've yet to do so.

I don't think anyone is really arguing that Stephen Lynch is the best thing ever.
What we are arguing is that he's actually a politician, who does political things and keeps up appearances. Unlike Brianna or Warren here.

We're just saying that saying dumb unproven things like someone is an adderall addict because they used to work in pharmaceuticals or that Stephen Lynch is anyone in this thread's cousin or has damage from alcoholism or is still an alcoholic when they seem to have gotten past that and have no signs of alcoholism.

I'm not vested enough to care, it's just ridiculous to me that someone in this thread thinks they're representing the whole district because they say "oh so random and quirky" things and get laughs from their stoner friends. And sometimes they make fun of the same people who don't get elected again and they think that makes them winning and influential with their stories of mothman and crack babies.

This 100%
Lynch's only decent opponent he ever had was in 2012, and even that guy only had one union behind him. Somebody with half decent skills and minimal effort could beat him pretty soundly. Of course, there isn't such a person running against him currently :)

Like 6-7 different posters. I like discussing politics nuance with you but most seem bored of it. And nobody likes my circular arguments with Ketone.

Haha touche. That's probably true. All I'm saying is I'm not a GENERALIZATION of any of these things. Ketone always trails off and starts ranting at an empty chair he made up.

See, it's sober, reasonable statements like this that do real damage. I don't know the facts, but I am not inclined to dismiss it as a lie and an impossibility.

Yeah I guess so. Not trying to convince anybody or prove anything. I just get the hunch he's not really recovered from drinking. But it's not really like, important to me.

I do.

You strike me as the kind of person that knows what is happening in a situation, but not why the situation happened in the first place.

But yeah, sure, it's totally the other Kiwis that are using circular logic, deflecting direct questions and attacking the wording of those questions. Mmhmm. Totally.

Warren - You said that Stephen accepted that you two are cousins. When and how did he acknowledge this?

Because from my point of view you acted like a total fucking loon that day. Brianna then went and tweeted out about Stephen owing you an apology and threatened a blog post about it. If I was Stephen Lynch and even if I'd looked through my ancestry and seen a family link, I'd still keep well away from Brianna and you because of the way you both act.

I do.

Huh? No I didn't say that. Plenty of Kiwis are capable of a conversation.
Others are complete neckbeards who like to give social advice because they are RPing. But put them in a real social situation and they'd be as paralyzed as me getting signatures for Brianna, lol.

Haha he does keep away from us. But he told Frank that he believes it. Probably because of our mutual acquaintance Rosemary making fun of the awkward turkey neck that we both have.
