ETA: Oh, and I also absolutely loved how that image of the smurf village being bombed (which was from an actual commercial IIRC) was considered "distrubing," but nobody bats an eye at the drawing of one of the baby smurfs getting their tail crushed by pliers or pretty much any drawing that featured Snickers.

I know right? I came across this thread a few days ago and because im the kind of person who looks at car accidents and all that shit, I just had to go and look.

The impression i came away with (aside from the gaping plot holes as others have pointed out) is two sharp contrasts. On one hand it is deeply disturbing. The details of torture, the fact that people want to buy a used Smurf diaper, the attention to the Smurf's tails and again the torture and detail to it. On the other hand, the story is so saccharine-sweet in places. You have the author ccoing over how cute the baby Smurf's noses and tails are, how tiny their fingers are, how they are so fragile and precious, how the things that go into their care must be mindful of their fragileness (everything at the nursery has to be organic, hypoallergenic, etc) why would anyone want to hurt the babies, they're so kawaiidesudesudesudesudesu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not as horrified about this as some people are but I am still disgusted. (after all the things I've seen on the Interbutts, I've become somewhat jaded) The Internet has become the perfect place for these sick fucks, who, before the Internet era, would mostly be alone in their sick fuckery, now the Internet lets them feed (and feed off) one another's sick fuckery.

Yeah, my theory is that this is a psychological condition in which someone is fascinated by torture of oh-so-sweet innocent kawaii creatures - and then wants to care for them, nurse them, snuggle them etc. To this man, the squealing of a baby smurf in agony just adds to the smurf's kawaiiness, because it makes the creature appear extra helpless and vulnerable. Basically it's a perverted form of "hyper-empathy".

"Whoooo's a sweet little sobbing torture victim? Tickle tickle tickle I will care for you now and nurse you back to health because you're such a sweet little helpless blemished torture victim..."

I believe what you're referring to is the Hurt/Comfort fetish. Yes, it's basically what it sounds like.

I just realized, after what Dykes said, that this whole Smurf nursery thing is likely, in at least part, because the author has a H/C fetish. There is a lot of detail that goes into the torture, but also a lot of detail goes into how sweet and wonderful the nursery is and the awesome, loving care the babies get, they need lots of cuddles and are even willing to hire an extra nurse to give even more cuddles. Seriously, the baby Smurfs are emotionally/mentally fragile as fuck and while I like cuddling and hugging, I would get hella sick of a constantly whiny, needy, OMG SO FRAGILE baby Smurf pretty fast.

....So Munchausen by Proxy, then.

Munchausen's by Proxy is a little different, in that the person gets off on the attention they get from taking care of a victim (an example being Marybeth Tinning, the woman lost a baby to illness, enjoyed how kind and sympathetic people were to her after the infant's death, then went on to murder eight more of her children so that she could continue to get sympathy). They don't get off on seeing someone harmed or doing harm; all they want is the attention from others.

DykesDykesChina's description is pretty much accurate on H/C fetish, except in this case they want attention from the victim. There's an undercurrent of fetishizing torture in the sense that it makes the victim even more perfect and more responsive to their care afterwards.

Wow. And I thought Pamperchu, Josef Fritzl, and cloppers were bad. This is... a holocaust of disturbing.

Is fetish even the right word? I mean in this case, obviously, given the extreme focus on nudity and little Smurf butts. But in most cases it sounds like H/C is more about feeding off of attention than jacking it.

I just braved all eight pages of that. I don't even know what to say.

I'm done with this thread.

Yes, H/C is a sexual fetish. In some stories, the abuser not only wants the victim's attention (in a normal way) but they will also use sex to try to comfort the victim. One particular aspect of this fetish I've noticed, and which has also happened in the Smurf nursery stories, is that the narrator himself doesn't do any abuse. Sometimes the abuser will set his victim to be hurt in an "anonymous" way (by him or someone else) so he can 'rescue' the victim and earn their gratitude, and the victim doesn't know that his/her rescuer is the one who caused them to be harmed in the first place.

Now I have read this drivel completely (...yeah...). For some reason I imagine the author to look and behave similarly to JustinRPG. They both have extremely weird fetishes and write extensive stories about it.

I just had another glance at this smurf nursery weirdness and have concluded that this man is easily the creepiest lolcow of them all (mkay maybe with the exception of Nick Bate). I wouldn't trust my pets to him or let alone children. This is the kind of guy who has a non-descript office job, never talks any more than necessary and dresses in clothes his mother bought for him... years later the cops find unspeakable things in his basement.

Hate to be late on this, but am I the only one who saw this and immediately thought of the Grinch?

Like, "And so they say, our poor little torture victim's hearts grew three sizes that day."

Another unsettling thing: He can't decide whether smurfs are pets or people. It is nowhere mentioned that the baby smurfs ever mature into noisy smurf children, mopey smurf teenagers, and finally adult smurfs.

"Hello, my name is Blueberry, and I would like to apply for this job. No, I don't have a last name. Yeah, my owner kicked me out when I stopped being cute."

I dunno, the rest of the forum doesn't seem much better.
