I remember back in the day, when bronies vehemently denied being furries, seeing these photos ..., it seems they finally stopped caring and embraced their true nature, i mean, you can't wear a fursuit and say you're not a furry

@CatParty is doing important work. When civilization falls, and the future wants to know what happened to a once great society, all they need to do is look at this thread.

It was a two-way street back then, because there were plenty of furfags who wanted nothing to do with bronies either.

I guess i cant understand why, i want to believe many furries have enough self-awareness to not want to stand-out, while most bronies (specially back then) were craving for attention pretty much everywhere, be it social media or even the news, probably most furries didn't enjoy that unwanted attention they were getting thanks to a loud and obnoxious fandom

There were quite a few differences between the two fandoms, and the impression I got is that by and large the majorities of the two fandoms weren't too keen on intermingling. The biggest differences were in regards to things like art style, source material, and even potentially the behavior and appearance of how bronies carried themselves.

Generally speaking, people who obsess over a specific cartoon or franchise -- even within the furry fandom -- are pretty goddamned autistic (Rescue Rangers, Tiny Toons Adventures, and Dragon Tales all have prominent lolcows for example). Most of them keep to themselves because their communities are very small and very easily shunted out of the way of the larger fandom. Those who can mingle do, but many do not. However the MLP fandom became massive almost overnight and some furs got angered by the sudden intrusion of pastel ponies in their communities. A lot of the people that I personally saw getting pissed off, ironically, were the equine furs because of how cartoonish and soft the MLP characters looked.

You've also gotta remember that bronies made themselves unwelcome in plenty of other communities too. They achieved this through all of their various crossovers and whatnot, like Doctor Whooves. The furry fandom is just one such example.
