I remember a story about someone using gofundme (or some other "give me money to do nothing" website) to help raise money for a kid with a disease to move closer to a hospital, but turned out he never gave any money to the family, total scumbag, wouldn't be surprised if there was something about him here.
Really, gofundme consists of either: scammers, fuckwits who have don't want to deal with consequences themselves, or both.
So many times on the evening news, there's a story about a family suffering a hardship where the story ends with something along the lines of, "The family has set up a GoFundMe to help cover expenses.
Just as @Burgers in the ass posted above, people seem to use this more to avoid responsibility or because of their own fiscal mismanagement. I'm at the point I wouldn't donate to anything referencing an online fundraising site because there's no way of knowing the money goes for the alleged purpose, especially when I see the donated amount exceeds the target amount..
