So Chris somehow manager to come up with $100 extra dollars.

His mother's van is a "gas eating" mid-2000's Dodge Caravan.

After dropping his car off he spent the rest of the day coloring Sonichu pages.

Edit: He still doesn't know how he's going to pay for the bill or how much it will be. Honestly, I'm not worried because just like @Marvin said he's great at scrounging up money in a pinch.

Most people would be worried about how to get to work, the possibility of expensive repairs, etc.
Not Chris.
What a world.

I don't even argue with @Marvin anymore about whether Chris is good with money. He's somehow both terrible with money and great at making it appear. Sure he lost $6 grand in the dumbest way possible, but he also somehow had $6 grand to lose.

It's not even a financial question anymore, it's a philosophical one. Like the does the sky reflect the sea or does the sea reflect the sky?

Does Chris regularly take the car in for tune ups? Because if not, then the heating issue could just be the tip of the iceberg...

I have to assume not, the car is the only essential I don't think I've ever heard him beg for. Mortgage, Internet, electric, vet bills, phone, trash pickup, groceries.. but never the car.

I hope the shop Chris took it to turns out to be a chop shop, but the car is so full of Chris's stank and fail that it being there causes the shop to fall apart and get raided by the cops.

And that the repairs don't get done in time for bronycon.

With any luck that queef mobile will make it to Bronycon only to break down, and Chris will have a long line of weens waiting to give him a ride home and rub his feet after he gets there.

BronyCon has essentially taken the place of his high school reunion, something he holds in a mythical light that he can look forward to. The main benefits BronyCon has over the high school reunion is that Chris has actually been the BronyCon before, and it's like a high school reunion where everyone is in a special class.

It would fit the pattern of behavior for the Chandlers - even back when Chris had the Ford Escort, that thing was WOEFULLY behind in servicing or generally even basic care. It's like the Chandlers simply assumed cars never broke down over time.

I couldn't imagine subjecting my beloved little hatchback to such conditions.

Very much so - the main differences being that he never has to fear about 'graduating' and being prevented from ever coming back as a result, the people there 'accept' him unconditionally (so far), and it's about ponies instead of dull school work.

These conventions are the realization of the fantasy that his high school years became. He is popular. People like him. They want to be around him. They recognize his amazing artistic talents. He has has gal pals there who love him. They all like ponies. Everything he believed that his time in high school was is now actually happening for him a few days out of the year.

Considering that the Gen 1 Son-Chu had barely any oil change should be a sign of how much Chris is not knowledgeable or just too careless about his cars. I think he only takes the car in when it starts to have problems.

I hope he at least took it to a mechanic certified in Autobot repairs.

Yeah plus it's newish so it probably managed to get this far on stock alone. This is likely its first major issue, otherwise we would already gotten a video chastising his donation squad with: "I need New Tires riiiiight NoooOOOOoow!".

Also expect an angry beg video by Friday.
