Yeah keep in mind that Barb was recorded while sitting in the drivers' position, she's clearly not completely out of it.
We ARE always wondering how barb got herself in debt. I don't think anybody factored in her buying herself a newish Dodge.

So Barb still has a car, huh? I wonder if it's in better shape than Son-Chu.
@The Captain does Chris have any other method of paying for repairs besides "ask friends for money and hope woons buy his stuff?"

Wait, is Chris confusing the AC coolant with the Engine coolant? As in he refilled the AC coolant, and he thought he fixed the radiator issue?

For the uninformed, AC coolant is a gaseous substance known as Freon, Engine coolant is antifreeze fluid IIRC.
That is correct. Engine coolant is water and anti freeze mix, depending on what your goal and needs different mix, lots of race cars or summer only don't use anti freeze and just water wetter. Some cars have this weird stuff, GM called dex cool other brands had different names and it's an entire shit show, but thankfully not an issue for Chris and his durtec/L series. Mixing them does eat your hoses.

AC is as you said freon well a synth of it but again another story and yes AC coolant is a sealed system that does over time go away and needs to be recharged. If the AC is working now it's not a problem related to the engine. If his AC was what was leaking he'd have reduced use of the AC and it would not cause the motor to run hot. The AC does take a tiny bit of power on any car and most anything remotely modern now has a WOT kill switch, (so if you need to pass your AC cuts for a second) but it still takes power, not enough to push a healthy engine past its' op temp though.

I asked before but since this thread is flying along, can someone talking with chris check if he's got a light white sweet smoke coming from his exhaust? That's the go to sign your HG is popped. If so that car is as good a scrap. But if hoses, probably not too big a deal, Chris claims 200 dollars for some hoses clamps and an hour or two at the shop it seems fair.

If indeed that's all it's still needing a T belt etc soon. So if sonchiu 2 lives on... she's still needing some love soon expensive love.

I'm stupidly wondering if the novelty of showcasing that license plate is a reason why he doesn't appear to be entertaining any thoughts of alternative transport..

Fucker didn't post and I can't edit.

Anyways, knowing them it's a 2016 Viper. Nothing but the best for Barbara Anne Bolyne.
pic of it shows it to be a mini van, in that era (well all eras) those were trash and I'm sure they paid out the ass for that junker. The years of that van it's also a mistubisi powered ride lol, pranked.

Having seen the pictures I feel like Barb's van, like Barb herself, is a decrepit poorly-maintained pile of junk that's lasted far longer than it has any right to.
Hope Chris can get his car back.

I'm not sure. Someone posted a photo of it from a distance last year.
Like Bassomatic mentioned, looks like a minivan, probably a Dodge Grand Caravan.. Though I am unsure which model.

Keep in mind the 2 day out videos I posted are of the older car.

But yeah, his car care in general isn't great.

It's a grand caravan.

The video he posted today he shows the ODO, it's over 100k miles 108 and change, it will/does need the T belt. If you've ever seen a motor throw a t belt (and it's at a risk for it higher due to neglect) well pistons and valves have a make out session. Protip, you don't want this.

From his description Chris is probably looking at a hefty repair bill. Might make more sense too buy a clunker for a grand or so than throw more money into the car than it's worth. His next step should be to put off Bronycon plans for the moment and focus on locating a mechanic or used car salesman who is into sodomy with chubby non passable transvestites.

Fuck, you know what sucks? He's this close to learning to fly.

I don't know a lot about cars but, @Bassomatic do you think he could switch out the CPU goddess from the commodore to Sonchu or do you think it'll be a housing issue?

I just got an obd2 reader (that's the system chris car has) and code tool on prime day for 35 bucks. With it you can do lots of neat stuff, including turning off those pesky idiot lights that yell at you something is wrong, I mean IM WORKING ON IT!!!

You'd be amazed how simplistic, lots of cars management systems are in regards to power, on my race car, I can tune live on the fly (ie make adjustments to the fuel spark revs etc while driving) from my cell phone via USB.

Could be as simple as a hose, leaking radiator petcock, or the radiator itself or water pump failing. If he's been driving around all "hmm...yeah" with it overheating, yeah he probably fucked the heads.

I recently had a similar issue. The thermostat housing in my vehicle went bad. The repair bill was around $300, mostly from labor. If he can find someone handy he can buy the part for around $50, though he'll probably still need someone to clear the code.

If you get a check engine light, fix the problem, and it's still on, sometimes you can just disconnect the battery for 10-15 minutes and clear it. Sucks you paid $300 for a thermostat, must have been a BMW.
