So he dropped it off as an emergency case. He'll have to raise money to pay the bill later. I wonder if that means they're going to let him take the car without paying or hold onto it until he does.
Apparently shipping for his blanket to CA was $40. He's not happy about that.
I cannot imagine that a mechanic (or any business owner for that matter), is going to take one glance at Chris in all of his Downsy Disney Princess, Sailor Moon tiara'd, tattered Sal Army shrieking glory, and return that car in working order on nothing but a greasy handshake that Chris is Totes Good For It.
Whether or not Chris really is good for it isn't the point. I don't see this working out for him if that car is what he considers his only option to get to the Emerald City to see the Wizard, and he can't get his bump & hustle on hard enough to come up with the scratch.
But he will. In that one respect, he seems to be the Teflon Don when it comes to things like this. I'd like him to learn a lesson & grow so he can avoid this kind of thing down the road, but that isn't likely to happen. Someone will take care of this for him.
So instead, it's just fun to watch it unfold.
Edit: I really fucking hope that someone with an *actual* repair emergency (i.e. single dad w 3 kids can't get to either one of his 2 jobs tomorrow if his car is fucked up) winds up further back on the queue than he should be bc..
