No, he got handed 300k to make a comic, which wouldn't have happened without this publicity. The smart move is to put out his product and start marketing his brand, not tilt at windmills for the entertainment of edgelords to whom (((parentheses))) are the height of comedy.

And I'm not exactly sure what was illegal about what was done to him, even though I strongly disagree with it.

Earlier on they slandered him and then at a later date they broke up a contract he had.

Nothing this guy did was illegal in any way, but what was done against him was seriously illegal. It may not be worth pursuing, but it was not only illegal but morally reprehensible behavior. He has a right to be pissed, and if he wants to sue, I'm going to have some popcorn ready. Several months or years worth, because he's not the guy who broke the law here.

Is it too optimistic to say he should go after Waid anyways because it might make companies keep a closer eye on actively instigating conflict with your customers? If Marvel stops political sperging and stops calling people nazis then mission accomplished. If no one steps in then someone like Waid is just going to keep escalating this Meyer monster they crafted in their heads and more lines will be crossed in their moral crusade.

Heck, D&C has mentioned in his livestreams that he's gotten emails from people who normally hate him that are freaking out about Waid because he set a precedence that will be really bad even for the SJW crowds Waid tries to be in. The current narrative against Meyer's criticisms was "Wrong! We're not a club, you Nazis!" and here's this cunt clearly assfucking the arguments of his peers.

Not necessarily. I mean, it would benefit society at large, but he has no obligation to do that if there's no benefit for himself.

He has all the money he needs to publish his comic, and even set up his own comics company, and satisfy all the people who backed it.

It would definitely benefit anyone who doesn't have such a support network to pursue legal action, but if Waid is a deadbeat broke-dick motherfucker, why should he? It would just be pissing away money, unless you could hook Marvel and Disney into it somehow, which for reasons I've explained earlier, is a dicey prospect.
 
I will check out the legal commentaries, and I admit that I may (definitely am) be ignorant of the legalities here. But I stand by my point that getting sidetracked into an uphill legal battle does Zack no good. Put out the comic, distribute it online. No one needs comic shops to sell a comic in TYOOL 2018. Just like no one needed grocery stores and newsstands to sell them in the early 80s, when the comics code was rendered worthless by the existence of actual comic shops. The biggest victory for Zack here is to put out a good product that people want, and have it be a success. Or, he could piss away his money, time and publicity fighting a losing battle against the kooks in the thefandom and in the industry (they turned against noted lifelong liberal Howard Chaykin, are they really gonna come around to Zack's way of thinking?), then rant and n the internet about how (((they))) ruined his shot. Then this thread can be about him. I don't give a fuck, I'm gonna lol either way.

On this part, I agree. He should not get sucked into dumb legal fights with no profit to them.

However, what Waid and compatriots did is nearly unquestionably illegal and constitutes a bunch of torts real lawyers have pointed out in sometimes excruciating too long; didn't watch detail. I'm not sure how you couldn't realize this.

I still agree it's strategically useless to get suckered into fucking around in court when you could be doing something better with your life. Court shit mainly profits lawyers.

If this one does, it could hardly have failed from any other cause, because there's more than enough money to print this at this point.
 
Part of the reason he want to publish it is for bragging rights, Meyer has been getting talked down to about his books not being in shops. So I’m 95% sure he will work his book into shops one way or another, it’s a matter of spite at this point imo.

I highly doubt he would fail to meet deadlines. The last pages of the book I think are done this week, next couple weeks are the lettering which doesn’t take as long as drawing and coloring. The deadline is set for August, if D&C fails to meet it, he better not get shocked when the usual spergs are on his ass about it.

I don't know, because while I'm aware that he apparently called up the publisher and gave them a "friendly reminder" (obviously autistic), apparently now we're running with the theory that "Oh fuck guys, marvels infuriated, he put them in enormous legal trouble and shit is getting hot and heavy... oh man they think they're gonna have to throw him out immediately before real serious lawsuits come up from this...".

That someone just went to /co/ and made up a story hasn't slowed the idea that "Holy fuck fellas, major fucking happens!" are going down in the slightest. And bringing up the idea that maybe that didn't happen, and to maybe wait and see before getting all amped up for the great SJW Purge of 2018, is autistic.

And I've not only seen people already convinced it'll bring a hellstorm of litigation, but coming up with theories on how Marvel is just SO invested in it's SJW propaganda as an explanation for if/when nothing happens. FWIW, Waid going radio silent is at least circumstantial evidence that something is afoot at Marvel. Given what's been documented about him, it's extremely unlikely he went into lockdown of his own free will.

I'm not even sure what you're talking about right now. We know fuor a fact that Marvel's staff, at least writers/artists, are bumfuck retarded to freak out over an old sperg and think Nazis live in their cereal. What is there to wait for? I guess us not having a recording of AP's owner calling to apologize to D&C but we do have Waid openly admitting to using his influence to bully another publisher. What shit isn't happening?
