Nah man nah a barber would have gotten the lines straight. Look again the shaved down part isn’t even. He probably did this himself in a mirror or had some other dipshit do it for him.
 
On one hand, I want to say "lol calm down" to this thread.

On the other hand, the Steven Universe style is fucking ugly and it can't fall out of fashion fast enough.

Also, I feel like we're gonna be seeing a lot of this face.

Warner Bros. likely assumes the core demographic of the 2011 anime is now too old for ThunderCats. Unless it's retooled for an older audience and airs on Toonami, what else can you do other than another reboot? Of course, this one looks so bad it shouldn't even count as a spin-off.

Interestingly, the original 1980s ThunderCats was the first show on Toonami's lineup. It's actually an American/Japanese co-production, animated by Topcraft, who did Nausicaa, which is often incorrectly attributed to Ghibli because it's by Miyazaki.

So I am probably the only person in this thread who doesn't really hate the CalArts artstyle :c It worked well for Adventure Time and to some extent Steven Universe (with some questionable design choices like nigger lips made out of two curved lines and flat Voldemort noses), but why Thundercats? I don't get this, if you want to reboot something, you need to keep at least some identity of the original work. Teen Titans Go is an example. This looks like a generic "wacky fantasy adventures with silly jokes ooooooh" cartoon, so I must ask again: why the fuck does it have to be Thundercats?

it's not bad, it's just being used so much that it's bland
also it doesn't work for more action orientated stuff

It was fine when they used it on shows I didn't give a shit about. Now that they've touched Thundercats, it's gone too far.
 

Here is the video Diversity & Comic guy posted about this, Personally my opinion on this is that i really wish people would leave shows form the past alone. Look at what they did with Reboot it is very insulting to the fans that love and cherish the shows. But of course people in Hollywood and other production companies will try and cash in on the nostalgia. Even if it means destroying the legacy of a show.

I feel like we reached peak tumblr art when it comes to this show. I dont really see how worse looking it can get.

The fact that this got greenlited might just be a start of a whole new wave of cartoons that have a similar style to this. Especially since a lot of these sjw tumblr artista end up working in CN or Nickelodeon
 
I'm glad I never gave a fuck about Thundercats even when I was a kid or I would be pissed. It doesn't just look like tumblr fan art of Steven Universe, it looks like absolutely shitty tumblr fan art of Steven Universe that would get you chased off the site because you were clearly mocking their sacred show.
