I seriously thought this was a joke at first. Is there some sort of template artists use with this style? Because everything that uses the CalArts style looks like it's copy and pasted.

Please leave my 80’s nostalgia cartoons alone, thanks. It looks almost as bad as the Jem reboot. Christ.
If you mean the Jem comic that one is actually really good in terms of writing and art. At least when Sophie Campbell is doing the latter.

I’ve heard good things about the Jem comic but the art turns me off a bit. I do like that they put in things the creator wanted in the original series unlike a lot of reboots though. Maybe I should take a better look.

We all make choices and theirs was to squeeze as much as they could out of the name with no regard for the original premise and fanbase. Comics went through this not long ago so it'S not entirely unexpected, just disappointing.

Executives want money. That is fair. Do not despise them for doing what is their nature...

Despise THIS goddamn specimen for coming up with the idea in the first place!

Well since I stupid as hell I like this current art style for the soul reason that it's cute, and tbh I think I see a long future for this (probably Abismal) series, wondering why? Well I'll give you a hint, it's starts with F and most of the people associated with it resemble my icon

AND ANOTHER THING ABOUT THIS GODDAMN HAIR

sorry....I just fucking hate this stupid soyboy manlet and hate his stupid soyboy hair and hate his stupid soyboy art and hate his stupid drooling soyboy face

God, even with the simplistic style the animation is annoyingly choppy and cheap. And of course they’re making it a comedy. Not like current children’s television isn’t already oversaturated with comedy cartoons.

I'm mostly trying to figure out how the fuck that even works. It's like he went to the barber (or whatever passes as a barber for these folks) and said, "Keep it trim all around... except this little spot and the top of my head! I wanna have a wee lil spurt of hair!"

Congratulations- you've discovered a hairstyle that makes the mullet look dignified in comparison.

I wish John K hadn't been a child molester, so he could break down all the ways this art style is shit. There's no movement, balance, or dynamic flow to the art. They're just lumpy lumps.

I didn't even like the show when it originally was on, but no show deserves this. :optimistic: Maybe it will be like the Sgt. Peppers movie of modern pseudo-kawaii Funko Pop pastel hipster shit. An embarrassing turd that didn't need to exist, combining one middle aged generation's nostalgia for youth with the completely incongruous trappings of their modern fixations. And then everybody who isn't an asshole rejects it and laughs at what a fucking mess the media itself and target audience are.

His hair screams "I'm a male feminist". The creator is going to get accused of sexual harassment/rape at some point.

When I read the title, I got excited because I like what they've done with the "Voltron" reboot.

Once I saw that teaser image though, I realized I should have known better.

A school gets shot up this morning and then this fucking thing is born the same day

I want off this ride

Instead of schools getting shot up, can we just direct all of that to shooting up San Fransisco on a daily basis along with California? I'm fucking tired of the state. It seems every terrible fucking bit of culture comes out of there, like the AIDs infested diarrhea it is. At least Florida provides us with Florida Man, all California has given us is pure faggotry and a likely economic collapse when it goes bankrupt.

Also Cartoon Network reeking of desperation to find another adventuretime/Steven Universe hit by finding the shittiest artists they can and hiring them as cheaply as they can.
