I'd rather read a well written story by a straight white man (or woman) than a story written by a hardcore sjw who's been brainwashed by tumblr into thinking that having 10 poorly drawn poc characters or 20 characters who each have like 5 gender and sexuality labels makes a good comic/story

I think I've stared at the abyss too long, that elf oc looks okay to me. It's not the worst. She's fat but cartoony enough to not look grotesque. Her head is a little big, that's probably what makes her look short.

I think a lot of it has to do with these artist's influences being things like children's cartoons where characters are often short stacks because their proportions are based on head numbers rather than actual realistic proportions (SU, Gravity Falls, etc.) or other artists who were influenced by such cartoons but never really figured how to to change up the sausage limbs/small statures.
