Might as well bump this up one more time to say the game is out now and surprisingly (or Unsurprisingly enough), it's getting great reviews.

Bumping one more time to say the PC release is out, though from what it seems, it was delayed for 2 weeks just so they could add in Denuvo.

This game is actually really good and very faithful to the original games unlike the dreck the actual Sonic Team guys have been putting out for the last two decades. Very reminiscent of the quality of Megaman 9 and 10 had vs the usual Megaman games developed by the usual Capcom guys.

I'm beginning to think fans actually produce better content than the game companies themselves and should probably be employed more than sent C&Ds constantly.

It plays on my switch fine.

Yeah stuff like Denuvo is usually a PC-only kinda deal.......... honestly makes me wonder if I should have canned my pre order for the console version of the game, or did they use the 2 week improvement delay as an excuse to throw in DRM?

It's been a long time since I've wanted to play a Sonic game. This actually looks promising.

gonna bump this thread because the game got updated. Sonic Mania plus

Mighty the Armadilo and Ray the Flying Squirrel from SegaSonic the Hedgehog have been brought back as playable characters after 2 decades of absence

I like very much how they added the missing transitions and changed the last portion of the metal sonic fight.
The only thing I don't like very much are some of the bosses, especially the final ones.

is it the same final boss

I like it, but for some reason I always always get bored of Sonic games by the third Zone. Those typically are the ones with all the annoying bumpers.

It's a good game, just unhappy about the fact that I had to pirate it because they added DRM to the PC version. I don't get hyped for games anymore but I was happy to actually pay for one for once because I'd followed the work of the guys that put this out for many years. Sega decided to be retarded and I'm sure they'll justify not porting games to the PC due to the lackluster sales. I'll probably play the plus version whenever someone releases the crack.

Anyway, I loved the 16-bit games back when I was a kid and Mania put me right back there for a few hours. Had no desire to replay but had a lot of fun. The engine they've built is really good and if Sega has any business sense at all they'll let this team produce an original game at some point. It was nice running through those old stages and they kept it fresh enough that it wasn't a straight port of them but I feel like they could do so much better if they were given some creative freedom. It's awful that Sega has fans this devoted to the old games yet they just keep shitting out bad games with Sonic slapped on the cover to appeal to the furry side of the fan base.
