Yeah the criticism of his taste is fair game, he likes dumb shit and his comic is unquestionably going to be dumb as a bag of rocks, that said his channel is popular for a reason, his content is fun. That's not the real reason the ess-jay-dub clique on /co/ are really upset with him, they act like content cops on that board reporting threads they don't like and the mods and jannies accommodate them.
I'm sure I can remember seeing him doing videos where he's talked about threads on reddit and 4chan before, don't remember any salt tbh.

Comic news sites don't really talk about comics either for the most part. It's mostly TV shows, movies, politics, Star Wars, funko pops, and attempting to give whatever device you're using vitural AIDS through malicous ads.
Comics only come up if you want to REE at not enough black lesbian activists getting hired by companies or publically masturbate about unneeded race/gender swaps. Oh, and lets not forget sometimes ironically incorrect "I KNOW WHAT THAT IS!" clickbait whenever some adaptation mentions them.
