$453 dollars on hand going into the election year is really something else. This shit makes me wonder if the Wu's really are pulling a money scam and not just doing this for attention, because they are clearly not serious about winning.

Didn't even have enough cash on hand to pay for the office rent in January, and since she didn't make any meaningful effort to raise funds, probably still didn't when it was due.
I bet we'll find that she had to talk Frank in to loaning the committee money on the next filing.

Luckily John is on the case hunting down hot button issues with which he can use to fill up his rapidly-dwindling war chest.

Edit: In more scamtastic news, she paid to go to this event with campaign money... then MISSED THE FLIGHT and had to pay 4x as much for a new ticket. It's incredible the depths of failure Wu exhibits.

That is truly jaw-dropping stupidity and laziness. You can fly to anywhere in Europe from the East Coast for that price.

$1500 to rent the theater for Star Wars, and there was what, maybe 5 or 6 people that showed up? I guess it was still a win for Wu, since I'm sure he just wanted an excuse to rent a theater for himself. I think the most surprising thing was them having an employee, and it wasn't even Natalie. It's pretty amusing that despite all of his claims of wanting diversity hires and a staff full of women, the sole person on his staff is some dude named Warren Lynch.
They’re probably not related, but it’s funny that motherfucker hired someone named Warren Lynch and the incumbent’s name is Steve Lynch.

He's not related, though he did direct a no-budget horror film about bronies.
As far as I can tell, he's a low level Democratic party hanger-on involved in various fringe groups and a perpetual write in candidate for various offices. I think he flim-flammed Wu in to thinking he's some sort of political operative.

Remember how in one of the earliest interviews Wu did about this scam he said he couldn't possibly think about video games in this political climate? Yet here we are with this asshat flying around to sperg about them still (and using campaign finances to do so).
Most of the donations seems to be from whales, including one cuck who donated the maximum amount. What the hell is wrong with these people?
Dox? This sounds like a good pathetic cow in the making.

They’re cousins. The scraggly Lynch (Warren) brings this up every time he cheerleads for Brianna. Now that we know the Wus are paying him, his pro Brianna posts make much more sense.

He doesn’t even live in Brianna’s District.

I think Brianna couldn’t resist getting into the Lynch family drama. If Warren has done anything for her campaign, it’s unclear. The grifters found another grifter for their cause.

Warren Lynch is a real person. He's an organizer of Our Revolution MA, the people who can't move past Bernie. He's a tool. He was up and coming and Democratic operatives in-state had high hopes for his political career for a while, but I don't hear much buzz about him anymore, except from people I think are crazy. And Our Revolution MA is imploding. Warren Lynch's career as a Democrat in Massachusetts is effectively over if he's hitching himself to the Wu wagon.

This. Except they probably flimflammed each other into thinking that the other is important. They're both idiots.

Oh Jesus Christ I own that movie and it’s absolutely unwatchable. That he’s working for Wu in any capacity is no surprise considering his talent.

This report makes me so happy, because I have always hated Warren Lynch. He seemed like a tool the first time I met him and I can barely read the shit he says and writes. There used to be buzz about him and his future political career, and I thought maybe it wasn't because he was a tool but just that I was just a misanthrope. Both can be true, apparently, and I am justified in never liking him.

I don't know if there is a legal difference but I would bet he was doing consulting and not a "campaign worker" which to me indicates someone actually employed by the campaign.

Anyway, the financial filings are great. Every single line item is snarkable. The highlights, for me:

The missed flight? Why would you even admit that?

The expensive hotel for a "campaign volunteer"? (What volunteers are on this campaign?) And of course she's expensing her meal at the W. And does she have a standing daily lunch order or something? $270 at a sandwich shop near her office? Apparently running for office is a sweet slush fund for travel and food costs. I wish I'd thought of it.

And she's spending on Facebook advertising, but where is it targeted? I am a democrat in the 8th district who likes all manner of democrat pages and groups and I've never had one of her ads targeted at me. I have lots for the governor candidates.

She is paying 3-4x more in rent than she could be, and her office isn't anywhere near the 8th district.

$300 on stock footage after they bout $8000 in video equipment? Are you fucking kidding me?

I actually had no idea he did that. I wonder if he was helping Wu with whatever filming she's supposedly doing. That makes more sense than her hiring him for general campaign consulting. And the reason it makes more sense is because hiring someone for general campaign consulting (even Warren Lynch) would be a smart move, and throwing an extra thousand at useless movie ads would be fucking stupid. And so obviously the stupid choice makes sense.

How locked down is his Facebook page? Have I mentioned he's a tool? If you can see any of his photos and posts, it's immediately clear.

How did you come to own this dreck? Giveaway at your neighbourhood video rental place or something?

I think she only spent on promoting the Star Wars event, probably most of the spend got wasted on people who it wasn't geographically relevant to but had the "Star Wars" connection.

His posts online aren’t locked down. It’s pretty clear she hired him for the Lynch family drama and inside secrets since he claims to be Stephen Lynch’s cousin.

From what I can tell; he’s done fuck all for the campaign. He attended the JP event and the Stonewall meeting, but the first one wasn’t even for Brianna. The second wasn’t either and was literally just a meeting.

As far as I can tell, she pays the guy to pretend he’s a voter who votes his heart over blood. If big bad Stephen Lynch can’t even get his cousin to vote for him, why should anyone else?

Never mind the pesky details that Warren is clearly a crazy person and also doesn’t live in the district.

I can't get over the office space.

Politicians work out of their car and their home. I have worked on many political campaigns, from state rep to governor, and the candidate mostly comes in to rally the troops. The only reason to have a campaign office is for staffers and volunteers, and so that people have a place to pick up canvasing materials and lawn signs. That's also why it actually has to be in the district. And for a Congressional run, there would need to be 3-4 offices around the district by the last 3 months.

Secondly, the price is crazy. $1049 a month sounds market rate for a mid-level office space in Burlington, though it depends on how large the office is. But nobody pays market rate for political office space. Most commercial landlords want a 2-10 year lease commitment, and campaigns need offices for 3 months-1 year. So they cut a deal with a landlord that owns a place that's been empty for years that the campaign will rent it at half-price for a minimum amount of time, and will do any upgrades themselves. Landlords figure some money is better than none, and hope that the place will be left in better shape than it was rented in. The places are usually pretty gross when they're rented, and volunteers will do a quick paint job and get some mousetraps.

If this campaign is about graft, then she's doing it wrong. Think of how many Amtrak trips and hotel stays and crappy food $1049 a month could buy her, instead of a pointless office.

I want to clear up the JP event. The JP meeting was a regular ward meeting. Right now every politician is going to every ward/town democratic committee meeting in their district and giving their stump speech. They're not events designed for any one candidate: they're monthly meetings for the town/ward democratic committee, and people running for office looking for democratic support are always welcome to come give a little speech. It wasn't a Gonzalez event, and they were probably given an equal amount of time to speak.

But the reason the politicians do this (it's a stump speech that most of the people in the audience have heard 3 times before) is to get volunteers, because the people who go to ward/town meetings are the die hards who will volunteer on every campaign. So what was funny about Frank's snit that the campaign worker wasn't talking to him was that neither Wu had any idea what the point of even being there was. The campaign worker was probably standing by the door with a clip board trying to get as many names and email addresses of potential volunteers as he could in the 10 minute rush after the meeting was over, and had no interest in talking to someone from another campaign who wasn't going to volunteer on his. It wasn't a social event, and small talk with another campaign was a waste of valuable time. There are lots of other times where everyone on all the campaigns are standing around being bored where small talk between campaigns is normal and expected and appropriate. Not while the staffer is trying to get as many volunteers as possible in a limited amount of time.

A year ago, when people were still helping her, Wu was told by everyone she asked to start going to every caucus in her district (the caucuses for the state convention are now) and meet as many people as possible, and then to start going to every ward/town meeting to give her stump speech. A year ago. To date, the JP one is the only one she's gone to.

It's not graft. Wu has no need for money as long as she's married to her sugar daddy, though I suppose from a point of pride it helps if she can draw from the campaign/patreon so she doesn't have to beg for spending money. It's puffery.
Wu's the kind of person who in the past would have had books vanity published just so she can say she's an author. She has fantasies of being a big, important woman and the play jobs and press attention flatter that fantasy. It also helps that she seen to be "doing something" so people, especially her husband, don't start asking awkward questions about why a qualified software engineer (nope, couldn't say that with a straight face) is unemployed.

The only reason she hasn't vanity published a book is that she doesn't have the attention span to finish one. I bet she's started plenty.

I genuinely can't tell if this campaign is a scam or just stupidity. Every time something convinces me of one, another thing comes out that points to the other. It's an enigma wrapped in a mystery.

Brianna needs somewhere to pretend to work. Having a static place to set up a couch and console is easier than having to drag it around and repeatedly hook it up to various 2nd rate hotel TV monitors. She can also use it as an excuse to get out of the house and away from the screaming chinkmunk.
