LOL, Dobson's position is so absurd that his own "fans" are assuming that the comic he's making is going to criticize the lack of consistency in SU, but in reality he's going to defend it.

The first 20 seconds of the video she's praising the show, so why would Dobson go apeshit after 10 seconds? I imagine he can't count beyond 10, and what actually got him is when she says "however, this show has a number of flaws", a concept that Dobson cannot tolerate.

However the dumbest thing is how Dobson calls Robobuddies ignorant, despite she obviously knows a lot about animation and the animation industry, definitely much more than our professional artiste.

If Dobson had watched the whole video, he would have learned a thing or two about animation, composition, storytelling... things that would have helped him improve his own art.

But you know, Dobson has kind of a sixth sense that detects from a mile away anything that would get him to improve or make his life better, so he can avoid it.

Yeah it rustled my jimmies that he called her "ignorant". I don't watch SU or any other show she references in the video and I still found she had a ton of insight into composition and scene continuity.

I can't wait to see how he defends an example as egregious as this though

Like he deliberately chose one of the worst I've seen.

Yes Dobson, tell us what possible benefit SU gains by having Steven go from being 2 and a half heads tall to 2 heads tall with one arm clearly longer than the other.

Don't get Dobson started on the whole "heads tall" thing.

Anyway, don't worry about him getting kicked off of twitter. If he does, as shown he'll just retreat to his facebook where his sperging can be longer, make himself look worse, and alienate what few followers he has left.

As :autism: as it’ll be, at least he’s drawing now.

Oh yeah, I remember him having a huge tantrum over that being a proportion trick, but then when he made a comic about it he only proved that he really had no understanding as to how the heads proportion system actually works.

10 fucking seconds. That is how much time Dobson dedicated to hearing somebody else's WELL-INFORMED opinion that doesn't agree with his.

And Dobson is just going to release a video with comments disabled so nobody can disagree with him.

Typical male ego, amirite? Can't stand a woman knowing more than him :story:

Takes a critique about how he draws people and applies it to his dumb as bear mascot as a “take that!” to the critique, intentionally applying it to something completely unrelated to the original criticism.

Say it with me now...

I'm willing to bet ten dollars that Dobson is going to fall back on "stretch and squash" as an excuse for inconsistent animation, completely unaware that Steven Universe is NOT a wacky cartoon like Bugs Bunny or Ren and Stimpy, where exaggeration is expected for the sake of fluidity, but instead a show that has codified character model sheets that are more or less supposed to be adhered to.

For fuck's sake, Steven can barely reach a kitchen counter now.

I think he's trying to say he DELIBERATELY drew that professor character that short? That's complete :autism: but at least it makes some sort of in-dobson's-head sense.

Just so we're all on the same page for Dobson's eventual fuckery:

THIS is stretch and squash. Peridot's face has been deliberately pulled upwards and downwards to emphasize to her yelling. I'm to understand this is a pivotal scene in which the stills are often affectionately mocked for being funny looking, as stretch and squash often does in stills. (See also this oft mocked example from Overwatch.)

THIS is off model:

Check out the positions of Stephen's mouth and his head shape in those pictures too, especially the third one. There's no way to even defend those as squash and stretch, and they're perfect examples of why model sheets need to have full turnarounds for every character.

E: has Dobson cited the stylistic shift in the Garfield comics to try to defend his point yet? That's one of the stupid places the on/off-model argument usually goes whenever it happens.

That's because there's a difference between "off model" and the evolution of the character model over the course of decades (improving, etc), and Dobson has no clue about the difference.

It would only be "off model" if Garfield were suddenly drawn like he is today three comic strips in after the 1978 debut, and then back to the original style for the next gazillion comics.

Well of course, Dobson will always try to find a way to justify the fuckups of people who make bad art. Be it his own art or the art of people on a mediocre cartoon series.

I'm surprised he hasn't defended shitty dA art that isn't his. It'd be right up his alley at this point.

All of Dobson's comics "responding to critics" comics remind me of this strip if it had all the humor and self-awareness sucked out of it.
