Why do Liberal idiots like John think global warming will cause instantaneous damage? You wont notice any major changes until close to 2040 and the United States isn't one of the countries that need to change but places like Russia and China, and soon India.

There's not a lot the government can do about it without interfering with industrial companies which will just have them send their businesses overseas so no changes will be made.

Right wing extremists, you say? In the Environmental Courts? Hmmm..

As for John's last sentence, our DNC leaders have been replaced. It has been happening ever since everyone shit their pants over Reagan and hailed an adulterous welfare reformer as a paragon just because "Liberal" no longer meant "Faggot". I remain unsurprised John does not recognize this yet.

Everywhere needs to change - fossil fuels are finite and will eventually run out. What energy sources people use come from a mixture of government and private choices; people can install solar panels on their property or drive hybrid cars, but governments can direct the nation's energy policy by funding projects and granting permission for them; Norway mostly runs on hydroelectric power, and France on nuclear power, for example. The fossil fuel industry has bought the GOP, so the current administration supports building more oil pipelines and so on rather than favouring a transition to other forms of electricity generation like nuclear power stations and solar arrays. The deserts of Arizona are ideal for the latter.

Stopped clocks are right twice a day. The current US administration isn't following the right energy policy by emphasising fossil fuels when they should be starting to transition away from them.

Of course, Wu doesn't do anything except virtue signal about this; his beloved car uses lots of oil, and I don't think their house has solar panels to my knowledge.

It's probably not even worth saying that John has missed the point yet again.

It is definitely one of the easiest and thus the laziest platforms to virtue signal over since Twatter shitposters are not going to be leaders of industry who would be in a position to make any real change in terms of environmental impact. Therefore you can sperg online all day about how much you wuv the science without ever having to actually do anything. Meanwhile there are 80 genders of course.

I love how Wu missed the point Kate Beaton was making here, which is that Golden Age WW was a fucking asshole.

It's very easy for ordinary people to do something about the energy crisis, though. If Wu spent all the time he spent working on his car on improving their house's insulation and installing solar panels, it would be contributing something more than angry tweets.

Except John would somehow burn the house down if he tried to do that.

So petitioning is like the most basic of political activities and it's rather shocking a congressional candidate wouldn't know the basics of it. Most candidates are able to get the signatures through volunteers or friends/family hitting the pavement. The "legal fees" associated with it are basically just letting a lawyer make sure the petition document is valid and meets all the requirements (varies from state to state) and that the actual petitions themselves meet all the requirements. You don't want to be submitting illegible signatures, signatures from people not registered, or people registered out of the district. Usually this sort of review is undertaken by a low level campaign worker and not an actual lawyer.

The lawyers come in handy mostly if your petitions are challenged and if you do everything right (including proper notarization, collection, submission) you won't have any problems.

Most problems (read legal challenges) arise from rushing to get the petitions signed and submitted without carefully reviewing them to make sure they are valid and then running out of time to re-file before the deadline. Wu's opponent, as a veteran lawmaker, will surely have some "friends" at the state office (looks like in Mass it's the Sec. Of State) that will (very) carefully review her petitions to make sure they are all above board. I'd expect a legal challenge or two but for any political veteran these challenges are mostly perfunctory. It's the cost of doing business. You either amend the signatures or throw them out and go get more. Only completely incompetent candidates won't meet the requirements.

It wouldn't surprise me to see her not make it on the ballot. Petitioning is one thing you can't astroturf and fake. You have to actually pound the pavement and get the signatures. It's mostly about hard, not at all glamorous work.

Here is a link to Massachusetts' requirements:

He'd also be violating the terms of his lease.

Is there any evidence "the campaign trail" consists of anything more than the well-worn tracks from his bed to the couch to the bathroom and back?

Nope.
All of his travel has been out of state and certainly nothing to do with District 8.
And none of his supporters seem to even live in MA.

Ha! The only Nazis John will ever be fightin' are Wolfenstein Naz.....huh.

I can't say for certain since I'm not the one who tried, but my friends tried donating to Wu's campaign as sort of a gag gift/prank and a majority of the links supplied by Brianna herself outright didn't work or wouldn't accept payments. At the end they outright gave up trying to find a working link. A difficult to navigate donation page is potentially one of the reasons why her fundraising is relatively stagnant.
