Weren't there Japanese people complaining it was the Koreans/Chinese trying to destroy Japanese culture because some of the people doing the protesting were Korean/Chinese Americans?

I wonder if these Korean/Chinese American protesters were also behind the movement to ban the tv show "Banzai" which was a spoof of Japanese wacky game shows as well as Japanese tv in general.

There isn't such a diagram, though, at least not how SJWs do it. Presumably, each lack of privilege is additive and automatically, if you are, say, a black woman you have black + woman oppression. A black man would be less oppressed. Instead, though, black males are vastly disproportionately the subject of violence and imprisonment. People might make nasty jokes about black women, but if you're a black man, you're assumed to be a violent criminal, even if you haven't done a bad thing in your life. Even, to some degree, by other black men.

Arguably, then, black women are actually more privileged than black men, in the terms that the kind of "oppression" black men face gets them outright killed from time to time.

This is tinfoil hat: The Chinese and the Koreans are the biggest weeaboos on this Earth. 90% of their TV are copies of the dumbest of Japanese shows.

The really sad thing about this is that it's not an SJW opinion; this is legitimately a very widespread sentiment in the deaf community. Cochlear implants are viewed as a "cultural threat" or an attempt to cure something that isn't broken. Some deaf people argue that children should not be given cochlear implants because that will lead to the child being "taken away" from the deaf community.

Not being able to hear is a disability, just like not being able to see is a disability. Being deprived of any of your senses is a disability. I understand that deaf people have created a community that they want to preserve, but it just baffles me that some of them are so opposed to technology that can improve hearing. Actually, I've noticed that more than a few deaf people have an odd superiority complex that just isn't seen in other disability groups.

yeah i remember vaguely reading an article along the line deaf parents trying to make their kids deaf or something. the reason why baffles me and i find the idea of doing such a thing child abuse.

Yeah I remember that, it was a pretty big deal. The capital-D Deaf community are pretty fucking nuts. The ones wanting to deafen their own kids were awful. They couldn't understand why people think that's child abuse, because hey, it's not like they wanted to birth a healthy child then punch out his eardrums or cut some nerves. That would be barbaric.

All they wanted was to be able to have their child rendered deaf in the womb via genetic manipulation. This was around the time when people were making a fuss over "designer babies". Because if a couple wants to pay to have a baby with a certain eye or hair color, then why can't the Deaf community choose to make their baby deaf? Why won't those bigot geneticists find a way to do that? That's discrimination!

Yeah these people think that curing genetic disorders is genocide. Deafness is not a race. Blindness is not a race. They are ailments, diseases, defects. Even Helen Keller was in favor of Eugenics if it meant no deaf people were to born.

Are there those among the dwarf community with similar nuttiness? Or does the dwarf community by and large think that curing the genetic conditions responsible for dwarfism is a good thing even though this will mean no more dwarfs will be born?

Man, someone should just decide which traits are most desirable, encourage all children born to have those traits, and discourage people who don't have them from breeding at all.

I wonder why that's never been tried before...
 
Best part about genetic deafness was that it would ideally be perma-deafness. No hearing aids or cochlear implants possible. This was seen as a positive. Basically creating their own race.

I'm not sure if there's anything as bad among dwarves or other disability groups. Unlike the Deaf community, dwarves and others live and work and interact with society everyday. You don't need to learn an entire new language to communicate with them and they tend to treat their conditions as something they won't allow to hold them back from living a normal life.

The Deaf on the other hand can easily form their own culture and speak solely in sign language and effectively isolate themselves from everyone else, though they really don't need to, and of course most don't. But the weird separatist ones who do are all kinds of nuts.

And how selfish do you have to be to want to deny a cure for a disability/disease in the name of keeping the community of sufferers together.

That's like saying without wars, the VFW has no reason to exist. I doubt any of the vets would have a problem with a world without wars, seeing as their fallen died in the hopes that would eventually come about.....
 
In the end a 'deaf' community is a lost cause even before we consider emotionally normal deaf people. Simply because most people are going to tell you to eat a dick if you suggest not treating your kids disability.

Colorblind people are jumping on the same ideals the deaf community has been preaching about. Mostly because of those new Chroma glasses that make seeing colors more saturated.
