To get an idea of why anyone would want to LARP as black person take a look at who does it- white kids (often those who aren't exactly poor) who decided they want to be special and oppressed. They don't just get a dark tan, cornrows, and work as a bank teller (i.e. live a normal life where they happen to be black). They become 'activists' who push identity politics every chance they can. But it's how you get ahead in today's world. Our society nowadays ascribe great social status toward being a victim. Being a victim gets you fame, money, attention, the approval of your peers, and gives you a stronger voice in society, all things once reserved for people who actually accomplished something. And remember, being non-white, a woman, LGBTBBQ+, a Muslim, whatever means you are inherently a victim because of white heteronormative cispatriarchy automatically oppresses everyone with its very existence. So if you want to get ahead in today's society, being a victim is a great way to do it.

Because it's cultural. Participating in another culture's festivities or anything is evil appropriation.

I remember there was a Japanese teahouse I was taken to, either in daycare or elementary school, long ass time ago anyway. It was a way of showing Japanese culture to visitors. If it hadn't shut down due to the owners getting too old I wonder if people would've had fits about it now.

What is needed is some sort of set of diagrams to make privelege easier to understand. Plot a representative value, a kind of Injustice Quotient. It'd probably end up a normal distribution with white people on top. That way you'd just have to check against the bell curve and know when it is appropriation or punching down. You wouldn't have to do all the math yourself, you'd just consult the table and know that for whatever social/racial reasons a person will just have a lower IQ, and you could react accordingly.

They almost never take offense to their culture being appropriated but assume that that the people belonging to the the culture will be offended. We live in a period where you can talk to people around their world pretty effortlessly, you can just ask the people of the culture what they think instead of just making assumptions.
